WVA targets the most vulnerable in its interventions; including children, women, Internally Displace Persons (IDPs), and returnee refugees, as well as the most impoverished and marginalized families. These priorities have been chosen to contribute to our Goal of: “Improved survival and well-being of Afghan girls and boys, building the foundations for a better future for Afghan children and their communities.” 

Our work is well established in Herat, Badghis, Ghor, and Faryab provinces in the western region of Afghanistan. We work closely with all levels of society including children, parents, teachers, village councils, religious leaders, ministries, provincial departments, and other national and international agencies.

Job Descriptions:

JOB PURPOSE:

The Provision of primary health care services to drought affected population including women children, people with disability living in the hard to reach areas in Badghis province of Afghanistan. The project will affect medium term change in communities in marginalized and hard to reach areas by providing equitable, inclusive and safe access to health and nutrition services for high-risk groups. This will encompass providing lifesaving health and nutrition services for populations not covered by BPHS, engaging diverse actors to deliver integrated malnutrition treatment in communities and health facilities.

Nurse should be fully committed to keeping, using properly and moving Pharmaceuticals properly, the pharmacist should execute the pharmaceuticals according to the recommended Prescription and take serious care of the proper maintenance of the pharmaceuticals in the clinic in accordance with the bellow Job description.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

  1. Giving regular monthly order according to the need before shortage of drugs in health facilities in consultation with MD Doctor.
  2. Keep drugs in good condition according to protocol.
  3. Provide BLS and emergency services to the emergency patients.
  4. Ensure the arrangement of pharmacy drugs alphabetically considering FIFO or FEFO order.
  5. Provide drugs to patients with prescription and register them in the pharmacy book and stock reports daily and ensure physical inventory at least once a month.
  6. Each drug must be put in a labelled plastic bag, with the name of the drug, the dosage and the direction of usage and all the prescriptions should be store in HFs at the end of month.
  7. In charge of giving health education to the patient regarding drugs use and how to keep the drugs safe.
  8. Make order on monthly basis and inform before shortage the pharmacy team and HFs director in order to avoid drugs gap.
  9. Provide monthly consumption report to the pharmacy coordinator and give feedback to HFs director.
  10. Ensure the availability of all supplied drugs and items with specification before signing the receipt form of pharmacy team in each single supply.
  11. Preparing and updating of the emergency box of the pharmacy on monthly basis according to the list.
  12. Notify short expire drugs to the HFs director and if the quantity of drugs is more than the consumption of the HFs then send it to pharmacy stock three months before the expiry.
  13. be aware of WVI protocols and policy.
  14. make monthly report and order for their drugs and equipment.
  15. join the training and meeting Upon request.
  16. Other tasks requested by the relevant supervisor.

Job Requirements:

Required KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Graduated from nursing program.
  • Two years of Working experience
  • Language(s) Dari or Pashto,
  • Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills and detail orientation.
  • Ability to travel by road

Preferred Experience,  Knowledge and/or other Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluency in Dari and Pashto
  • Strong capacity building & facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of child rights
