About Hospital:

AFGA is in the process of establishment of a 20-bed hospital in Kabul, aimed at providing quality Reproductive Health services to mothers and newborns. The hospital will be fully equipped with modern medical equipment, facilities and staffed by experts.

As part of a long-term development plan, hospital services will continuously expand, serving as the central hub for AFGA outreach and small Service Delivery Points (SDPs) to refer patients needing advanced care. The hospital will adhere to national and international standards for patient safety and quality service, ensuring it meets the needs of target communities.

 

Job Descriptions:

Summary of the job:

The ultrasound specialist will be responsible for all sonography of IPD and OPD and providing results on time.

Responsibilities

  • Operate ultrasound equipment to produce and record images of various areas of the body
  • Interpret and analyze sonographic images in real-time and provide preliminary findings and recommendations to physicians.
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations on pregnant patients to assess fetal development, detect abnormalities, and monitor the health of the fetus and mothers.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process and ensuring their comfort
  • Maintain patient records and add analytical notes to the images/videos captured
  • Collaborate with radiologists or other medical professionals to evaluate the images and to determine if more scans are necessary
  • Familiarity with the latest ultrasound equipment and techniques, regulate, maintain, and perform minor repairs on the ultrasound equipment.
  • Follow proper protocols to ensure patient safety and minimize radiation exposure.
  • Keep updated with new sonographic techniques and procedures
  • Manage appointment schedules and ensure timely reporting of results to referring physicians
  • Assist physicians during invasive procedures that use ultrasound guidance, such as biopsies
  • Respect all rules and regulations of the AFGA and adhere safeguarding policy
  • She will report to chief of gynecology

Job Requirements:

  • Should hold MD degree from a recognized university, gynecologist is preferred
  • Should have the sonography certificate with register or attested by MoPH
  • 2 to 3 years of practical experience performing obstetric and gynecological ultrasound examinations.
  • 2-3 years’ Experience working in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare setting.
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills.
  • Ability to interpret ultrasound images
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Empathy and compassion toward patients
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Should know Dari, Pashto and English
