Job Descriptions:

Scope of work:

HQIP Officer under direct supervision of deputy technical manager is mainly responsible for the implementation, training, supervision, monitoring and implementation of HQIP baseline, and other round of HQIP assessment at the HFs in provincial level. In addition, the HQIP officer is responsible to guide and extensively support the HFs’ staff to effectively achieve Q&C and QQC in HFs.

Responsibilities:

  1. General

 

  • Works with co-operative attitude and keep a high standard of quality
  • Develops spirit of co-operation and understanding among members of the organization.
  • Follows SAF's established policies, procedures and objectives; continuous quality improvement initiative works/ performance
  1. B- Specific Activities

 

  • Provide the HQIP checklists separately for each types of HFs.
  • Functionalize HQIP committees at provincial and HFs level.
  • Conducts baseline assessment to determine the needs of HFs for practicing the HQIP standards.
  • Develop follow up action plan for addressing gaps towards implementation of HQIP and IP.
  • Continuously monitors/supervises HFs and HFs and measures performances of the service delivery points VS the target indicators.
  • Tracks the progress towards the follow up action plan in each HF.
  • Trains the HFs staff on HQIP/IP standards.
  • Coordinates closely and effectively coordinate with PPHD and other relevant stakeholders for ensuring the quality of health services through implementation of HQIP and IP in HFs.
  • Conducting midline and end line HQIP assessment in the targeted HFs.
  • Promotes use of the Standard Treatment Guideline (STG) for Primary Health Care in the HFs;
  • Continuously works to promote trust, respect the values of patients at the HFs level.
  • Continuously supports the HFs’ staff to improve their decision making skills.
  • Continuously works to improve the referral system;
  • Supports the technical project team to improve the quality of data collection, reporting and using.
  • Ensures uninterrupted supply of medical and non-medical items to all HFs and HPs.
  • Prepares and submits monthly activity and progress reports to line manger
  • Accomplishes other duties requested by line manager.

Job Requirements:

  • Graduated from recognized Medical University (MD)
  • At least 3 years’ experience within the field of in implementation of HQIP and quality of health care Experience in NGOs.
  • Having knowledge of English and local languages and basic computer skill
  • Having interpersonal and managerial and conflict resolution skills
  • Having communication skills and knowledge of local communities
  • Having negotiation skills in multicultural and multilingual environment
