Apama Consultancy Services is seeking qualified individuals to fill specific project-based roles for an third-party monitoring of infrastructure and health services projects. We invite interested and eligible candidates to submit their CVs for the following positions: 

1. Structural Engineer
2. Irrigation Engineer
3. Medical and Instrumentation Engineer
4. Environmental, Social, Health & Safety (ESHS) Safeguards Specialis

Here’s a summary of the roles these positions involve for third-party monitoring of infrastructure and health services projects

1. Structural Engineer:

   • Conducts site inspections to ensure construction quality, safety, and adherence to structural standards.
   • Identifies structural risks, recommends corrective measures, and documents assessments for project reports.

2. Irrigation Engineer:

   • Monitors and evaluates irrigation systems for functionality, efficiency, and compliance with design standards.
   • Assesses system performance and suggests improvements for sustainable agricultural support.

3. Medical and Instrumentation Engineer:

   • Evaluates and monitors the condition and functionality of medical equipment in healthcare facilities.
   • Ensures equipment complies with health standards, recommending maintenance needs, and offering guidance on use.

4. Environmental, Social, Health & Safety (ESHS) Safeguards Specialist:

   • Monitors compliance with environmental, social, health, and safety standards across project sites.
   • Conducts site assessments, identifies risks, and provides recommendations to mitigate environmental and social impacts.

 Requirements:

1. Structural Engineer
   • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
   • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of general experience, with at least 2 years in a relevant structural engineering role.
2. Irrigation Engineer
   • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Irrigation Engineering.
   • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of general experience, with at least 2 years specifically in irrigation engineering.
3. Medical and Instrumentation Engineer
   • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering or MD.
   • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of general experience, with at least 2 years in assessing and monitoring medical equipment and supplies.
4. Environmental, Social, Health & Safety (ESHS) Safeguards Specialist
   • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science or a related field.
   • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of general experience, with at least 3 years in environmental, social, and health and safety safeguards.

General Requirements for All Personnel:

• Proven experience in similar projects in Afghanistan with comparable complexity.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Practical and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
• Willing to travel to Herat or be based in Herat
