Job Descriptions:

Main tasks and responsibilities for this position:

Technical Support:

  • Ensure daily quality implementation, monitoring and evaluation of shelter construction works.
  • Explain program objectives to the communities and ensure project ownership by the participating communities by convincing them about the goals and objectives of the projects.
  • Identification, registration and verification of the right holders.
  • Engage in proactive outreach efforts to raise awareness of the shelter construction activities related to the project.
  • Collaborate with the project teams, communities, and local authorities, and ensure proper delivery of the project support and services to the targeted communities.
  • Conduct regular checks on construction materials supplied to the HHs and address any rising complaints on qualitative and quantitative deficiency.
  • Check the construction logbooks for the unaddressed construction issues by the technical field engineers and follow-up on any emergent issues.
  • Provide information and guidance to the target HHs on processes and procedures involved in acquiring project assistance in shelter construction.
  • Be present and monitor during the critical phases of shelter construction and legal documentation.
  • Conduct awareness sessions, community dialogues, focus group discussions and individual interviews as required by program and PMER processes.
  • Ensure updated filing and documentation of related reports, progress and achievement in line Project/requirement.
  • Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of the project.
  • Maintain accurate records of the project beneficiaries and other documents.
  • Prepare regular reports on project effectiveness and share recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepare daily and weekly plans and reports.
  • Alert any gaps in process, tools, or staff capacities to meet the project needs.
  • Perform of any other tasks as assigned which are within the scope of the project.

Reporting, Communication and Visibility

  • In collaboration with the project team, ensure timely and quality reporting of project activities / targets and accomplishments.
  • Actively support and participate in the documentation of project learning and impact case stories and ensure that all lessons learned and best practices are appropriately documented and used to inform project management decision-making processes and project design
  • Assist in regularly monitoring and supervise the projects’ activities, track progress and provide the necessary on-field mentoring support when appropriate to improve group performance and results.

Job Requirements:

  • Institute level education, Islamic studies, Law and science.  
  • A minimum of two (2) years of previous experience in the areas of community mobilization, community based conflict resolutions, community development, capacity building
  • Can effectively communicate in English and the local languages.
  • Must be willing to travel to project areas
