Alongside the Ministry of Public Health, AFGA has been working in the field of Reproductive Health since its inception. A committed team of more than 600 experts are working in 11 provinces of Afghanistan to achieve AFGA goals and objectives. AFGA provides health services to the most vulnerable and hard to reach communities through over 140 service delivery points.  

Job Descriptions:

Job Summary:

Under direct supervision of the program manager and in close coordination with the project donor, the RMNCH working group coordination officer will be responsible for overall support of RMNCAH in emergency working group activities including but not limited to coordination of the working group meetings, working group meetings (scheduled and urgent) agenda preparation, working group meetings agenda sharing, working group meeting reports preparation and follow up.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provide coordination and technical support to the Reproductive Maternal Newborn Child in Emergency Working Group (RMNCH in Emergency –Working Group in Afghanistan).
  • Support the Coordination for quality and on-time implementation of the RH in emergency interventions with the health cluster and GBV sub-cluster members.
  • Support the Coordination for implementation of the RHMCH in Emergency Working Group work plan with RMNCH in Emergency WG members
  • Regular Collection of data and information on the availability of RH supplies and identify gaps and stock out of RH supplies on the field, regional, and national levels.
  • Identify the specific areas for capacity building, recognized needs include existing RH supplies and services.
  • Identify new members of RMNCH In Emergency including UN agencies, and other national and international NGOs.
  • Present key findings on plans, key activities, achievements, and challenges in RMNCH in Emergency WG and other cluster coordination systems.
  • Provide support in conducting the capacity building of RHMNCH In Emergency WG members.
  • Participate in relevant health, protection, and GBV sub-cluster meetings and inform the RMNCH in Emergency WG members.
  • Provide support in the preparation and submission of reports to the health cluster and IM Working Group.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  • Graduated from a well-known institute or university with a master's degree preferably in the medical field.
  • Having more than 5 years of proven experience in the field of health in emergency projects with more focus on RH services with national and international NGOs.
  • Strong coordination skills for communicating information at inter and intra-agency levels.
  • Good knowledge of Afghanistan coordination channels particularly health services coordination channels on both central and regional levels.
  • Having experience in contributing to inter-agency coordination approach.
  • Strong skills and abilities in report writing particularly analytical skills.
  • Fluent in spoken and writing skills in English and Pashto/ Dari.
