Job Descriptions:

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The overall scope of work for Medical Director is responsible for smooth implementation of diagnostic and treatment services in all wards of the hospital-based Covid-19 and hospital standards, ensure proper recording and reporting are in place in all wards of the hospital and the capacity of service providers (MDs, Nurses, MWs and technicians) are built in an effective and efficient way and to Keep confidential with issues related to CAF and Work with co-operative attitude and keep a high standard of quality.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical:

  • Assist the Hospital Director (HD) in technical management issues of the hospital.
  • Ensure duly and smooth implementation of the project work plan and training plan in close coordination with HD.
  • Track project targets and outcome indicators regularly in a quarterly base and make sure its proper achievements;
  • Ensure proper diagnosis and treatment procedures as specified in the Isolation Ward of Logar.
  • Provide technical support to the service providers of different wards of the hospital.
  • Attend in the morning report of the hospital and provide necessary guidance and feedback to on-duty staff.
  • Conduct regular supervision from different wards of the hospital and provide technical support and on the job training for the eligible staff.
  • Conduct pre-service orientation/training for the newly recruited staff.
  • To prepare a monthly action plans of the hospital different departments in coordination with the management team of the hospital.
  • Supervise and support team members in the development of their yearly objectives, action plan, supportive supervision & monitoring plan and make sure each ward of the hospital is supervised regularly on a daily basis.
  • Update the JDs of all service providers based on their job title and ensure arranging their daily activities are adapted accordingly;
  • Make sure all hospital wards are active and maintaining to provide health care services to the population in a standard quality;
  • Make sure the quality of services delivery including Infection preventions and waste management system, the MD is expected to ensure the application of standard-based management (SBM) throughout the cycle from planning, and implementation to evaluation at the hospital level;
  • Support the service providers (MDs, Nurses, MWs, and technicians) to effectively do their daily activities regularly.
  • Follow to address the challenges, findings and constraints at the result of the monitoring from hospital wards and make sure its achievements before next sessions;

Capacity building and quality improvement responsibilities:

  • Conduct TNA in different wards of the hospital.
  • Identify needs and organize the training sessions based on the training plan.
  • Monitoring of progress of the staff of  hospital awards performances
  • To oversee the implementation of the hospital performances within the agreed standards
  • Monitoring visit of the hospital to monitor the progress of activities of hospital wards staff versus their action plans and project target indicators.
  • To keep staff motivated through different strategies.
  • Strengthen the triage and reciprocal referral system from other HFs to PH and vice versa.
  • Active participation in client’s satisfaction survey.
  • Coordination related Responsibilities:
  • Regular attendance and organizing of Hospital board meetings.
  • Participation in the relevant task force and coordination meetings.
  • Participation and organizing monthly technical review meetings with staff of hospital wards.

Recording and Reporting Responsibilities

  • Ensure availability of HMIS recording and reporting formats in all relevant wards of the Hospital.
  • Ensure from the proper utilization of HIMS recording and reporting formats in hospital.
  • Analyze the HMIS data of the hospital on a monthly and quarterly bases and provide verbal and written feedback to health service providers in different wards of the hospital.
  • Ensure the HMIS data is collected from different wards of the hospital, the data is collected to the HIMS database and HMIS replica is shared with CAF HO.
  • Ensure reports of the hospital are filled in a proper manner and are submitted to HD.
  • Responsible for developing the update charts and graphs reflecting the achievements of the hospital staff versus the project target indicators. 
  • OTHER TASKS GIVING BY HIS/HER LINE MANAGER BASED ON THE NEED.

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Medical Doctor (MD) is must
  • Fluent in English and local languages.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Having proper leadership skills
  • Familiarity with Logar Province.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to create a supportive working relationship with all project teams
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work on Microsoft Office, Excel, World

WORK EXPERIENCE:

3 years’ experience in hospital management
