Job Descriptions:

I. Position Summary

The Oilfield Inspector is responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of oilfield chemical materials through detailed inspection, sampling, and testing. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of oilfield operations, specifically regarding chemical materials used in drilling and well repair processes. The Oilfield Inspector will perform experimental operations, data processing, and testing procedures, ensuring the reliability and correctness of test results. The position requires technical expertise in oilfield chemical testing and strong problem-solving skills to address on-site issues and accidents as they arise.

II. Key Responsibilities

  1. Sampling and Inspection of Chemical Materials:
    • Conduct thorough sampling of oilfield chemical materials (such as drilling and well repair fluids) to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
    • Inspect and verify the chemical properties of materials used in oilfield operations, ensuring they meet regulatory and operational requirements.
    • Perform tests to assess the safety and quality of the materials before they are used in operations.
  2. Experimental Operations and Data Processing:
    • Perform experimental operations and process data for chemical material testing, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the results.
    • Conduct physical and chemical analysis of oilfield chemical materials, including performance testing and microscopic component analysis.
    • Analyze test results, identify potential issues, and summarize findings in detailed test reports.
  3. Test Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare and write comprehensive test reports, including analysis of the test results and recommendations for improvement or corrective actions.
    • Provide a clear and concise summary of test outcomes, ensuring that the report is accessible to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  4. Maintenance and Calibration of Testing Instruments:
    • Maintain and calibrate testing instruments to ensure their accuracy and reliability in conducting tests.
    • Ensure that all equipment meets required calibration standards and is functioning properly to prevent testing errors.
  5. On-Site Issue Handling:
    • Assist in handling on-site issues, accidents, and chemical material-related incidents, ensuring proper documentation and corrective measures are followed.
    • Collaborate with field engineers and supervisors to address any operational disruptions caused by chemical material problems.

  1. Educational Background and Professional Knowledge:
    • Bachelor’s degree or above in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
    • Familiarity with oilfield chemical testing technical specifications.
    • Strong experimental operation skills and understanding of the physical and chemical properties of materials used in oilfield operations.
  2. Work Experience:
    • Preferably 2+ years of experience in oilfield chemical research, quality control, or a similar field.
    • Experience with the physical and chemical analysis, performance testing, and microscopic evaluation of oilfield chemical materials such as drilling fluids and well repair fluids.
  3. Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong hands-on experimental operation ability, with proficiency in the use of detection instruments and testing methodologies.
    • Ability to ensure the correctness and reliability of test results, with a strong focus on precision and accuracy.
    • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to document, analyze, and report test results.
    • Strong learning ability and adaptability, with a willingness to stay updated on new testing methods and technologies.
  4. Other Requirements:
    • Certification in China Metrology Certification (CMC) or equivalent professional training related to metrology and measuring instruments is highly preferred.
    • Ability to read and write in English, with a good understanding of technical documentation and reports in English.

  1. Timely and accurate sampling, testing, and inspection of oilfield chemical materials.
  2. High-quality and reliable test results, with minimal errors in data processing and analysis.
  3. Well-maintained and calibrated testing instruments, ensuring consistent accuracy in test results.
  4. Effective handling of on-site issues, with quick resolution of any incidents involving oilfield chemicals.

Comprehensive and clear reporting, contributing to the successful implementation of corrective actions and improvements in chemical material usage.

  1. Additional Tasks and Responsibilities:
    • Complete other temporary tasks as assigned by the leader or supervisor, including emergency testing or additional inspections as needed.
