Job Descriptions:

Position Summary:

The Finance Assistant will help manage financial records, transactions, and compliance with policies and donor requirements. They handle cash transactions, assist with accounts, monitor cash flow, and prepare basic financial reports. Additionally, they support the finance team in tax compliance and audits.

Reports to: Senior Finance Officer 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining accurate financial records, reports, and statements..
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and donor requirements.
  • Assist in overseeing accounts payable, receivable, and payroll functions.
  • Handle cash transactions, maintain petty cash, and ensure proper documentation.
  • Monitor cash flow and report any discrepancies.
  • Support financial audits and reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with program staff for budget tracking.
  • Ensure timely submission of basic financial reports.
  • Assist in managing bank accounts and monitoring financial transactions.
  • Support procurement processes with financial documentation.
  • Assist in preparing grant applications and funding proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
  • Safeguard the organization's financial assets and resources.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned as needed

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field.
  • Proven work experience of 2 - 3 year in a related field.
  • Knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks is a must.
  • Excellent proficiency in written and verbal communication in English, Dari, Pashto.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
