JEAO works with interdisciplinary professionals to develop and implement innovative, culturally appropriate, evidence based public health interventions.  JEAO offers ground-breaking and unconventional solutions that foster self-reliance and promote sustainable health care that is accessible to all. JEAO is working in Afghanistan since 2007, implementing integrated health projects managed mainly by national staff supported technically and management wise by expatriate staff from head office.

Job Descriptions:

  • Preparing and submitting the final financial report as required by the donor.
  • Overall Program financial management
  • Keep accurate records for all daily transactions and keep record of QuickBooks expenses.
  • Prepare balance sheets.
  • Process invoices.
  • Record accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Update internal systems with financial data.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
  • Reconcile bank statements.
  • Participate in financial audits.
  • Track bank deposits and payments.
  • Assist with budget preparation of proposals.
  • Review and implement financial policies.                              
  • Record keeping for all contract leave and travel application monthly payroll, and other essential office personal document.  
  • Prepare staff attendance sheet.
  • Keeps record of office document including in and out going letters.
  • Prepare purchase requests and brochures.
  • Clearance of taxes on timely manner.
  • Providing advice on financial matters impacting the project and organization as a whole.
  • Preparing and managing payrolls
  • Ensuring compliance with the organization policies and procedures when processing payments.
  • Ensure accurate book keeping.
  • Develop annual financial report and present it to the board.
  • Manage the travel and logistics arrangements of the project staff, consultants, associates and beneficiaries, such as ticketing and accommodations, travel allowances, travel requests and ensure they are in line with relevant policies of Organization.

Job Requirements:

  • A degree in finance, management, economics
  • +3 years relevant experience
  • A solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
  • Experience in using financial software like Fresh Books, QuickBooks, Vision, etc.
  • Knowledge of financial and tax regulations
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written capacity in English. Knowledge of Pashto and Dari is an addition.
