Job Descriptions:

The Branch IT + Western Union (WU) Assistant is responsible for providing technical support and assistance with IT systems in the branch, ensuring the efficient operation of banking technology. Additionally, this role encompasses managing Western Union transactions and services, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. IT Support
  1. Technical Assistance
  • Provide day-to-day technical support for all banking software and hardware used within the branch.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, ensuring minimal disruption to branch operations.
  1. Branch IT related Items Maintenance
  • Assist in the maintenance and updating of branch IT systems, including computers, networks, and hardware’s.
  • Ensure that all IT equipment is functioning properly and coordinate with external vendors for repairs as needed.
  • Provide services to branch all IT items at least twice in a month
  1. User Training
  • Train branch staff on the use of banking software, equipment, and IT best practices to enhance their operational efficiency.
  • Develop user guides and training materials for specific IT processes as required.
  1. Data Security
  • Assist in monitoring and implementing security measures to protect branch IT systems and customer data.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection policies and procedures.
  1. Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of service requests and IT incidents, providing reports to the Branch Manager and IT Department as needed.

 

  1. WU (Western Union) Operations
  1. Transaction Processing
  • Manage and process Western Union transactions including Send and receive, ensuring that all transactions comply with WU policy and procedure.
  • Assist customers with inquiries related to Western Union services, providing accurate information and resolving any issues that arise.
  1. Customer Service
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients utilizing Western Union services, ensuring a positive customer experience.
  1. Compliance and Reconciliations
  • Process all WU transactions as per AML/CFT policy.
  • Conduct daily basis reconciliation during end of the day.
  • Prepare and submit reports related to Western Union activities to the Branch Manager.
  1. Compliance
  • Adhere to all regulatory and compliance requirements related to customer service and banking operations.
  1. Assist with CSO of the branch in daily branch activities.
  2. Punctuality. (Follow official working time schedule properly).
  3. Behave in a professional way with all the colleagues and customers of the branch.
  4. Any other task assigned by Line Manager or will be assigned other duties and responsibilities as may be required to meet the goals and objectives of the bank.

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in BCS and master’s degree is preferred.

Experience: 1 year of experience and previous experience in IT support within a banking or financial services environment is a plus.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong technical skills with proficiency in computer systems, networking, and common software applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Fluency in Dari, Pashto, and English is required.
