Job Descriptions:

Overall responsible for under two children and pregnant and lactating women (PLW) nutrition status, MIYCN counselling and documentation of the clients (PLW) based on Ministry of Public Health/Nutrition standards anthropometric tools and registration formats. 

Register and undertake Growth Monitoring and Promotion (GMP) including measure weight, height, age and check oedema of all children under two years of age 

 Conduct GMP based counselling of mothers/Caregivers of all children under two years of age on appropriate Maternal Infant and Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN) practices and infection prevention. 
• If the child is normal, encourage and counsel Mother to reinforce and promote age appropriate MIYCN practices.
•  If child is suffering from Acute Malnutrition, refer to the doctor of the health centre for giving adequate treatment and counselling.
•  Counsel Mothers/ caregivers to bring under two children for the continues monthly GMP visits.

 Check whether child has received Vitamin A supplementation during the previous NID, if no then refer to the doctor of the health centre in order to obtain Vit A.
 Providing health and nutrition education to mothers in health centres on a daily basis. 
 Conduct complementary feeding demonstration session once per month.

Job Requirements:

Education:  Completed higher secondary level education (Midwifery or Nursing) and MIYCN training

The holder of this position will provide MIYCN services in accordance with MIYCN guideline and will be reported to HF In-charge.
