Job Descriptions:

Position Summary:

The Medical Doctor / Health Facility In-Charge is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to patients and overseeing the operational management of the basic health center. This role combines clinical responsibilities with administrative duties to ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.

Essential Responsibilities And Duties:

Clinical Duties:

  • Provide diagnosis, treatment, and management of various medical conditions for patients of all ages.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care as needed.
  • Conduct thorough health assessments and physical examinations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
  • Provide night duties if it is needed on regular basis
  • Refer the complicated cases to a higher level of services and follow up on referred cases.
  • Giving priorities to those patients referred from BPHS HFs for receiving advance treatment

Administrative Duties:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the health facility, ensuring compliance with health regulations and standards.
  • Manage and supervise healthcare staff, including nurses, technicians, and administrative personnel.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of the facility’s budget and financial resources.
  • Implement quality assurance programs to monitor and improve healthcare services.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and prepare reports for health authorities and stakeholders.
  • Raise regular supply requests to the line manager and ensure the securing of HF supplies including therapeutic food and drugs.
  • Ensure that the project health facility targets is achieved.
  • Provide monthly report of the HFs to the HF supervisor/project manager.
  • Facilitate and support the team during handover of the project.

Community Engagement:

  • Participate in community health outreach programs to promote health awareness and disease prevention.
  • Work collaboratively with local health authorities, NGOs, and community organizations to improve health services.

Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Valid medical license to practice medicine in [Passed exit exam].
  • Experience: Minimum [3 years] of clinical experience; prior experience in a HF in charge role is preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Working Conditions:

  • May require working long hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Exposure to various health conditions and potential hazards.
