Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor water treatment systems, including filtration units, reverse osmosis systems, softeners, and disinfection units.
• Adjust equipment settings and controls to maintain optimal water quality and flow rates.
• Regularly test and analyze water samples for various parameters such as pH, turbidity, chlorine levels, hardness, and microbial content.
• Ensure that the treated water meets quality standards and regulatory requirements for use in dairy and juice production.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on water treatment equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Coordinate with maintenance personnel for more complex repairs and ensure that equipment is serviced according to a scheduled maintenance plan.
• Handle and manage chemicals used in the water treatment process, such as coagulants, disinfectants, and pH adjusters.
• Ensure safe storage, handling, and proper dosing of chemicals to avoid contamination and maintain effective treatment.
• Maintain accurate records of water quality tests, equipment maintenance, chemical usage, and any incidents or abnormalities.
• Prepare and submit reports on water treatment performance, including any deviations from standards and corrective actions taken.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations related to water treatment and chemical handling.
• Implement and follow safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment
• Identify and address any issues with the water treatment process, such as equipment malfunctions, water quality deviations, or chemical dosing problems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems to ensure continuous and effective water treatment.
• Monitor and analyze treatment process data to identify opportunities for improving efficiency, reducing waste, and optimizing water quality.
• Implement best practices and process adjustments to enhance overall performance.
• Coordinate with production teams to ensure that water quality requirements are met for dairy and juice processing.
• Communicate with other departments, such as maintenance and quality assurance, to address any cross-functional issues.
• Provide training and support to new or less experienced staff on water treatment processes, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
• Stay informed about new technologies and advancements in water treatment to apply innovative solutions in the plant.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans for potential issues such as chemical spills, equipment failures, or contamination events.
• Ensure that staff are trained in emergency procedures and that response equipment is readily available.

• Ensure adherence to local and international related to water treatment and quality.
• Prepare for and participate in inspections and audits by regulatory agencies, ensuring all documentation and practices are up to date.
• Implement practices to reduce water usage and promote water conservation within the treatment process.
• Monitor and manage water usage to minimize waste and optimize resource use.in the treatment process.

Knowledge and Abilities

• The operator should have knowledge in the following areas:
• Operate water treatment plant in an effective manner
• Water treatment process (Sand filter, Softeners, Carbon filters and RO)
• Water testing both chemical and physical
• Take corrective actions base on water result
• Cleaning and sanitation of the water treatment systems
• Modern technology
• Able to operate PLC based program
