Job Description

Position Summary:

The Finance Assistant will be responsible to perform the financial activities TSFP project in Nimroz province under the direct supervision of the Provincial Finance Coordinator. He/She would act based on RI standard financial policy and procedures as well as the donor rule and regulations.

Daily job duties and responsibilities of the Admin/Finance Officer:

  • Finance Assistant is responsible to handle the financial activities under the direct supervision of the Provincial Finance Coordinator.
  • Ensuring the financial operations are in compliance with RI standard Financial Policy and Procedures as well as the donor rule and regulations.
  • Handling petty cash payments and safekeeping of physical cash in the safe box.
  • Performing cash counts on timely bases.
  • Booking transactions into NetSuite on timely bases.
  • Proceeding the payments through cash box and bank account by the issuance of the cheque or transfer letters.
  • Reconciling bank and cash accounts on monthly bases.
  • Ensuring all transactions are supported by complete supporting documents.
  • Scanning and uploading the vouchers into NS and as well as to the box folder on timely bases.
  • Ensuring transactions are booked to the relevant GL, project & project task lines.
  • Ensuring the proper archiving and safekeeping of financial documents.
  • Helping the Provincial F. Coordinator in the preparation of the financial report.
  • Verifying the expenditure documents of TSFP and managing their payments on timely bases.
  • Other finance related-tasks assigned by the Finance Coordinator.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or economics or equivalent certified by the relevant higher education authority in Afghanistan.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the field of finance and accounting.
  • Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Oral and written communication skills in English, Pashto and Dari, and other local languages

Having familiarity with web-based financial software is an advantage
