Razi Social Development Organization- RSDO is an Afghan NGO founded in April 11, 2008 and registered with Ministry of Economy in Afghanistan. It was established in Herat city but then sat up sub-offices in Ghor, Badghis and Farah provinces by delivering the social development services to vulnerable and marginalized people in the remote communities.

  • RSDO’s Background

RSDO firstly initiated the primary activities in 2002 under the name of “Abu Hanifeh Orphan High School”, assisting orphan children who lost their parents and families during the long-lasting war in Afghanistan to learn and build their future. Later on, with the financial support of Japan Embassy it has constructed a high school building for the orphan and expanded the activities of orphan with the support of HELP Germany as well. Throughout years of hard working, RSDO slowly developed and now has functioning offices in all west zone provinces of Afghanistan with more than 200 staff.

RSDO’s mandate is delivering the humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable households in the west zone provinces of Afghanistan through the financial support of UN and International Organizations.

Job Description

Purpose of the position:

The Social Worker is a key frontline staff member responsible for identifying, assessing, and supporting children and families in need of protection and psychosocial services. Stationed within communities, the Social Worker leads child protection interventions, facilitates case management processes, and builds local capacity for sustained community suppor

Duties and responsibilities for the position:

  • Assessment, case planning, implementation of the case plan, follow-up and review, case closure as outlined in the Standard Operation Procedures.
  • Provide Psychosocial First Aid (PFA) support and emotional support to children and families throughout the case management process.
  • Conduct safe referrals to essential services as appropriate, and follow-up to ensure services provided were responsive to the needs identified within the assessment.
  • Actively engage in all capacity-building opportunities, including formal training and capacity assessments.
  • Participate in regular case management meetings with the case management team.
  • Support mitigation, prevention, and response to vulnerable cases including awareness-raising, victim response, and coordination of protection program.
  • Consistently and proactively monitor/assess the safety and security of children and caregivers, partners activities, support to partner staffs, preparation of reports, meeting minutes, and report to the supervisors.
  • To collaborate with other child protection colleagues/partners and key stakeholders to regularly report trends and advocate for vulnerable children.
  • Proper coordination with CPAN, CPAOR members, stakeholders, and other community structures.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor's Degree from LLB, Education, Economics, Social Sciences, or any other relevant field.
  2. Must have a professional knowledge of MS. Office, Excel and Internet.
  3. At least 3 to 5 years’ experience as CP Social Worker, Case Worker, Case Worker
  4. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within different cultural environments
  5. Good communication skills with children and community.
  6. Team work highly required.
  7. Able to work under pressure and different circumstances.
