The Organization for Management, Initiatives and Development (OMID) is a national, non-governmental, non-profit, and non-political organization established in 2007 by a group of Afghan multi-disciplinary professionals.
OMID’s mission is to serve vulnerable and marginalized populations across Afghanistan through sustainable, community-driven development and humanitarian programs. Job Description
OMID is implementing a Protection through Livelihood project in Behsood district of Jalalabad City, Nangarhar Province. The organization is providing livelihood support to targeted female beneficiaries. To further strengthen their capacities, OMID is seeking qualified female trainers to deliver training sessions on a daily basis in the following areas:
- Vegetable Production and Management Training: The trainer will conduct kitchen gardening training for 8 groups, with each group receiving two days of training.
- Life Skills Training on Social Leadership: The selected trainer will conduct training for four groups of women (total of 100 beneficiaries). Each group will receive a one-day training on the respective topic.
- Livestock / Animal Husbandry Training: The trainer will deliver training for 12 groups, with each group receiving two days of training.
- Life Skills Training on Social Accountability: The trainer will deliver life skills training on social accountability for four groups (100 female beneficiaries in total), with each group receiving a one-day session.
- Poultry Rearing and Management Training: The trainer will conduct training for 4 groups, with each group receiving two days of training.
These positions require strong technical expertise in agriculture, livelihoods, and social protection, along with a solid understanding of protection principles and gender-sensitive programming.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Training Planning and Implementation
- Develop and implement detailed implementation plans (DIPs) and work plans for the assigned training activities.
- Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of all training sessions in line with donor requirements and OMID’s operational guidelines.
- Coordinate closely with project staff to ensure smooth implementation of training activities.
- Develop training manuals in local languages (Pashto and Dari).
- Submit training materials for review and finalize them based on feedback from OMID technical staff and the donor.
- Deliver high-quality, participatory training sessions.
- Prepare and submit daily and final training reports.
Coordination and Representation
- Represent OMID at the community level in a professional manner.
- Maintain effective communication and coordination with project staff.
- Participate in meetings at the OMID regional office to ensure effective implementation of activities.
Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare accurate, timely, and high-quality narrative and technical reports in English for donor submission, and in national languages for local authorities.
Document and share lessons learned, best practices, and success stories to support organizational learning.
