Shining Star Educational Organization of Afghanistan (SSEOA) is a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-political organization registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan, with Registration Number 4388 dated February 18, 2018. SSEOA works in the fields of education, health, and livelihood in the remote regions of Afghanistan. SSEOA envisions creating educational opportunities for girls and women to grow, thrive, and prosper. SSEOA works to empower communities in Afghanistan through education, especially for girls, promotes peace through education, and conveys the importance of these activities all around the country. Our mission is to empower Afghans, especially girls and women in the remote regions of Afghanistan by creating educational opportunities and livelihood skills because SSEOA has a firm belief that without educating girls, peace and prosperity is not possible. Job Description

Purpose of the Position

The IT Assistant will provide technical support and assistance to staff, ensuring proper maintenance of IT equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting the implementation of IT systems.

Key Responsibilities

The IT Assistant will be responsible for:

 Technical Support

  • Provide first-level IT support to staff for hardware and software issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve computer, printer, and network problems.
  • Assist users with email, internet, and application-related issues.

Hardware & Software Maintenance

  • Install, configure, and maintain computers, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
  • Ensure all systems have updated antivirus and required software.
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates of IT systems.

Network Support

  • Assist in maintaining LAN/WAN connectivity.
  • Support internet and network troubleshooting.
  • Monitor network performance and report issues.

IT Inventory Management

  • Maintain updated inventory of all IT equipment.
  • Track issuance and return of IT assets.
  • Ensure proper labeling and documentation of assets.

Data Management & Security

  • Support data backup processes and ensure data safety.
  • Assist in implementing IT security policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of organizational data.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Keep records of IT issues and solutions provided.
  • Prepare periodic reports on IT support activities.
  • Document system configurations and procedures.

Other Duties

  • Provide support during trainings, workshops, and events.
  • Assist in IT procurement processes when required.
  • Perform any other IT-related tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • At least 1–2 years of relevant work experience in IT support.
  • Basic knowledge of networking, hardware, and software systems.
  • Familiarity with Windows OS, MS Office, and common troubleshooting tools.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Reporting and Supervision

The IT Assistant will report directly to the Deputy Director and will work closely with all departments to ensure effective IT service delivery.
