Job Description

The Community Mobilizer will support the effective implementation of CBE/CBS and EiE classes by facilitating community engagement, learner enrollment, stakeholder coordination, and ongoing participation of children. The role aims to strengthen community ownership and ensure inclusive access to education, especially for girls and marginalized groups.

Key Responsibilities

Community Outreach and Mobilization

  • Conduct regular community outreach sessions to raise awareness about the importance of education, especially for out-of-school and crisis-affected children.
  • Introduce programme objectives, enrollment criteria, and learning opportunities to families and communities.
  • Promote equitable access to education, with particular focus on girls and vulnerable children.

 Coordination with Communities and Authorities

  • Coordinate with community elders, shuras, School Management Committees (SMCs), and education authorities.
  • Support establishment and strengthening of community education structures (e.g., SMCs or Shuras).
  • Organize community meetings, awareness campaigns, and enrollment activities.

 Learner Enrollment and Attendance Follow-up

  • Support transparent identification and enrollment of eligible children in CBE/CBS and EiE classes.
  • Maintain regular follow-up with students, families, and teachers to ensure consistent attendance and retention.
  • Identify barriers to education (cultural, economic, access issues) and propose solutions.

Support to Learning Environment

  • Promote safe, inclusive, and child-friendly learning environments.
  • Encourage community support for school/class infrastructure and learning spaces.
  • Support teachers and facilitators in addressing community-related challenges affecting learners.

 Accountability and Community Feedback

  • Raise awareness of Complaint and Feedback Mechanisms (CFM).
  • Encourage communities to provide feedback in a safe and accessible manner.
  • Document and report feedback to improve programme quality and accountability.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, enrollment data, attendance follow-ups, and community meetings.
  • Submit regular field reports and updates to the supervisor.
  • Support documentation of case studies, success stories, and lessons learned.

Safeguarding, Protection, and Compliance

  • Ensure all activities follow safeguarding, child protection, and PSEA standards.
  • Promote non-discrimination, confidentiality, and respectful engagement.
  • Report and refer any protection concern according to established procedures.

Other Duties

  • Support field activities such as assessments, monitoring visits, and education campaigns.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor to support programme implementation.
  • Effective community mobilization and awareness on education.
  • Increased enrollment and retention of children in CBE/CBS and EiE classes.
  • Strong community engagement and ownership of education activities.
  • Timely submission of field reports and documentation.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or at least 12th-grade education in Education, Social Sciences, Community Development, or related field.

Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in community mobilization, social outreach, education programmes, youth development initiatives, or other related field-based work. with NGOs, humanitarian organizations, or education projects (such as CBE/CBS or EiE programmes) is highly desirable.

              Fluency in written and spoken Dari and Pashto and  is required.
