Job Description:

 

The Logistics Officer will be responsible for providing logistic support and overseeing the overall logistic processes in support of the objectives of the construction project. They will be responsible for the planning, oversight, and management and coordination of logistics support operations to ensure smooth accomplishment of projects.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement plans in coordination with project requirements.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities.
  • Manage and control the project's inventory of materials and equipment.
  • Conduct regular stock assessments and update inventory records.
  • Ensure adequate stock levels are maintained to meet project demands.
  • Coordinate transportation of materials and equipment to and from the construction site.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and coordinate with logistics service providers.
  • Monitor and optimize transportation costs.
  • Plan and organize the layout of the construction site for optimal efficiency.
  • Coordinate the movement of materials within the construction site.
  • Implement safety measures for the transportation and handling of materials.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all logistics activities.
  • Prepare regular reports on procurement, inventory, and logistics performance.
  • Provide timely updates to the Project Manager on logistics-related issues.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Management, BA or related fields Proven experience as a Logistic Officer or similar role, preferably in a nonprofit or NGO setting.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations governing logistics & procurement.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Language Requirements:

•             Proficiency in written and spoken English, Dari and Pashto.
