About Afghan Post State Own Corporation:

Postal services in Afghanistan have a history of more than a century. These services were first laid in 1870 for the first time during the reign of Amir Shir Ali Khan, which witnessed significant ups and downs due to changes in the political, social and cultural spheres. In 1928, Afghanistan became a member of the World Postal Union and in 1968, a member of the Asia-Pacific Postal Union, in order to expand its postal relations and strengthen ties with the rest of the world.

Job Descriptions:

The Network Infrastructure and Systems Engineer will work under direct supervision of Senior IT Specialist responsibility involves overlooking the operation of LAN / WAN related network and System services. The engineers should take care of the network software and hardware upgrades.  They have to work in collaboration with the other network staff to resolve any information security issues. The professional will have to maintain detailed documentation of the network infrastructure.

The engineer will play a prominent role in managing the network component inventory. The professional will keep track of the network capacity to understand its effect on performance. They have to give recommendations to meet the new or changing network demands. The engineers should keep themselves updated with the new technologies. Apart from these, the other responsibilities include:

Remodeling Reengineering and Integration of Current Infrastructure

 

Network Systems Engineers remodel Design and integrate existing network facilities such as Firewall, Router, ISE, ESA, Core switches, WAPs, VoIP appliances and Servers. This professional coordinate the design, planning, purchasing, installation, configuration, maintenance and testing of all network elements.

Network Services Management

Having an active network remains essential for any organization. It means that the engineer must efficiently manage Active Directory, Exchange Server, Proxy Server, File Server, Call Center Server, Corporate Network, logical architecture, network traffic monitoring and shaping as well as other network-related services.

Network Administration

Engineers develop and maintain scripts and utilities to automate repetitive routines and administer network and server control systems. Proper policies and procedures depend upon administrative authorization.

 

Network Infrastructure Management:

Design, implement, and manage the organization's network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.

Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, ISE, Email Security Gateway, WLC, Load Balancer, Storage and other network devices

Monitor network traffic and proactively address potential issues.

 

System Infrastructure Administration:

Administer and maintain servers, ensuring their reliability, security, and performance.

Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems (Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022, Linux Ubuntu, Cent OS, Debian etc.) and application software.

Implement and manage virtualization technologies both Open Source and Closed Source for efficient resource utilization.

 

Security & Compliance:

Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and measures to safeguard the organization's network and systems.

Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.

 

VOIP Infrastructure Management:

Design deploys administer and maintain Voip Infrastructure both Closed and Open source

Ensuring their reliability performance and apply Required IT Policy of the Company.

 

Troubleshooting and Support:

Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network-related issues.

Diagnose and resolve system and network problems in a timely manner.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.

 

Backup & Disaster Recovery:

Design and implement backup and disaster recovery solutions to protect critical data and ensure business continuity.

Regularly test and update disaster recovery plans.

Capacity Planning and Performance Optimization:

Perform capacity planning to ensure scalability and efficiency of network and systems.

Monitor system performance and implement optimizations as needed.

 

Documentation:

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, system architecture, and procedures.

Develop and update troubleshooting guides for common issues.

 

Collaboration & Communication:

Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to implement and support technology initiatives.

Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

 Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Proven minimum 7 years of experience as a Network & System Engineer or a similar role

Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Enterprise CCNA Collaboration MCSA, MCSE , Linux  or equivalent are a plus

Strong knowledge of networking protocols, security principles, and system administration.

Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, ISE, Email Gateway Security, Load balancer , WLC ,servers, Storages and virtualization technologies on different Products.

Ability to work with Call center system both open source and Close Source

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
