• Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to the DBA team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

• Set clear objectives and performance expectations for team members, conduct regular performance evaluations, and providing constructive feedback.

• Coordinate team activities, assign tasks, and ensure timely completion of database-related tasks, projects, and initiatives.

• Administration, maintenance, and optimization of database systems, including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and others as required.

• Define and enforce database standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency, security, and compliance with industry best practices.

• Configure, monitor, and maintain Dell EMC storage solutions such as Networker, Data Domain, and Tape Libraries to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

• Implement storage best practices and standards to maximize efficiency and scalability.

• Troubleshoot storage-related issues and implement solutions to minimize downtime.

• Administrator and maintain backup and recovery solutions using Dell EMC Networker and Data Domain.

• Work independently and coordinate with different operating systems’ teams, as necessary, to troubleshoot backup issues.

• Develop backup policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, retention, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Perform regular backup tests in different platforms and audits to verify data recoverability and compliance with backup policies.

• Perform regular backup and restore requests for Windows, Unix/Linux environment.

• Perform regular backup and restore requests for Applications, Databases like but not limited to oracle, MS SQL, Mango Dbs.

• Perform regular backup and restore requests for Microsoft Exchange, M365 Services (Exchange online, Teams, SharePoint, one Drive).

• Configure and manage backup solutions for virtualization environments, including VMware vSphere, Oracle Virtualization, and Hyper-V.

• Implement backup deduplication, compression, and encryption techniques to optimize storage utilization and enhance data security.

• Generate Daily, weekly, and monthly Status Reports for backup environment.

• Monitor backup jobs and resolve any failures or performance issues in a timely manner.

• Monitor Enterprise Backup Storage Infrastructure using various administrative tools

• Reach out to application owners on a regular basis to discuss their backup requirements and future growth projections.

• Work with system/application owners to run ad hoc backups before/after major system upgrades/updates.

• Developing, maintaining, and executing business continuity plans for disaster recovery.

• Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving backup/recovery issues in a timely manner.

• Responding to requests for information for internal system audits.

• Administer Brocade director FC switches, RTL and VTL.

• Administration of cross-site replication of significant DR data.

• Supervise volume replication overnight jobs and execute improvements.

• Conduct bottleneck evaluation to identify performance issues of Backup & Recovery Platform.

• Explore more challenging projects in the area of Business Continuity Platforms.

• Enhance the backup and recovery systems to cope with the existing limitations.

• Supporting line manager on optimizing the Recovery Time & Point Objective in business-critical services.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in the field of IT specially in Backup, Recovery Operations and database administration.

Proficiency in configuring and managing Dell EMC Networker, Data Domain, and Tape Libraries.

Hands-on experience with backup solutions such as Dell EMC Networker Backup & Replication, or similar.

Having knowledge of database administration tools and technologies, including Oracle Enterprise Manager, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, and MySQL Workbench.

Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies, high availability solutions, and disaster recovery planning.

Strong understanding of backup and recovery concepts, including full backups, incremental backups, and synthetic backups.

Relevant certifications in backup administration technologies are a plus
