Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance (CHA) is a non-governmental, non-profitable, and non-political Afghan NGO, working since 1987 mainly in agriculture, health, education, Community development, and DMRA sectors in more vulnerable areas of the country. CHA is working through implementing Emergency, rehabilitation, and development projects for emergency aid for war, famine, and natural disaster-affected families in the field, to assist with rehabilitating rural and urban life, and to work with communities for sustainable development in Afghanistan.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

The GIS Officer will report to the Project Manager and his responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:

• Prepare a plan for the project to achieve goals.
• preparing geographical maps for the projects
• preparing geographical maps in the field map and GIS survey for project implementation in the field
• Quality check of the geographical location of collected data by using GIS and satellite images
• installing the geographic layers into a field map for the surveying of the public infrastructures
• Preparing the geographical maps from the collected data at the end of the project for preparing the final report
• Present the daily, weekly, and monthly reports when necessary and provide information on activities and achievements to the executive management team of the organization.
• Undertake additional tasks assigned by the project manager.

• At least a bachelor's degree in Geography, Engineering, GIS, Geomatics, geodesy, Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing, and Geo Science.
• At least 3 years’ experience in the GIS and Geospatial sector.
• Fluency in the official languages (Pashto and Dari) with working knowledge of reading and writing in English.
• Computer skills proficiency in Microsoft Office, and programming expertise will be considered as an advantage for the candidate.
• Advance skills in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
