Job Descriptions:

  1. Implement the IMNCI program according to national guidelines and protocols.
  2. Ensure the integration of IMNCI protocols into routine maternal and child healthcare services.
  3. Monitor the implementation of IMNCI interventions at health facilities and communities.
  4. Provide supervision and support to healthcare workers involved in IMNCI service delivery.
  5. Conduct regular visits to health facilities to assess the quality of IMNCI services and provide feedback.
  6. Organize and facilitate training sessions on IMNCI protocols, case management, and counseling techniques.
  7. Identify training needs among healthcare staff and develop training plans to address gaps in knowledge and skills.
  8. Mentor and coach healthcare providers on IMNCI principles, including assessment, classification, and management of sick children.
  9. Coordinate closely with other health program supervisors, managers, and stakeholders to ensure integration and synergy between IMNCI and other health programs.
  10. Participate in coordination meetings, workshops, and training sessions as required.
  11. Monitor and evaluate the quality of IMNCI services through regular assessments and audits.
  12. Ensure compliance with IMNCI guidelines, standards, and indicators.
  13. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address quality improvement opportunities.
  14. Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of IMNCI data at health facility and program levels.
  15. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of IMNCI indicators in accordance with program requirements.
  16. Use data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for program improvement.
  17. Assist in the revision and developing guidelines and protocols pertaining to Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMNCI) corresponding to Child and Adolescence Health policies and strategies.
  18. Assist in conducting household survey, training need assessment at Province level pertaining IMNCI and evaluation of child health programs.
  19. Coordinate with and assist MOPH relevant departments to further improve the child survival agenda at the national and provincial levels.
  20. implementation, and monitoring of the Child and Adolescence Health department work plan.
  21. Assist in adequate and timely reporting to the Child and Adolescence Health department on progress Child and Adolescence Health work plan.

Job Requirements:

  • MD, Master or Bachelor’s degree in Public Health.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maternal and child health programming, with a focus on IMNCI.
  • Strong understanding of IMNCI principles, protocols, and best practices.
  • Experience in program management, supervision, and capacity building.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and data analysis software.
  • Knowledge of local language(s) and cultural context preferred.
