BDN operates in accordance with its constitution in three main thematic areas: health, education, and agriculture and livestock. With its current focus on public health and nutrition, BDN helps communities achieve their developmental goals, while its wider vision is a world of enabled communities working towards a brighter future.

Presently, BDN is actively involved in various initiatives, including the Health Emergency Response Additional Financing (HER AF) undertaking in Balkh and Maidan Wardak Provinces. Additionally, the organization is executing projects such as the Targeted Supplementary Feeding Program (TSFP), AFIAT, and GC 7 in the Balkh Provinces.

Job Descriptions:

The cluster supervisor is responsible for monitoring & supervising the implementation of a basic package of health services in related health facilities or clusters.  He/she is also responsible for improving the knowledge & practice of the medical staff through supervision & conducting on-the-job training. The duties are carried out with the consultation of the technical/project manager.

  • Supervise the whole activities carried out in the health facilities of related clusters.
  • Ensure that the diagnosis and treatment of the patients are done according to the national treatment guidelines.
  • Ensure that all registration & medical record systems are followed according to the guidelines.
  • Provide on-the-job training to staff of health facilities in related clusters.
  • Ensure the quality of services provided by health facilities through a feedback mechanism.
  • Provide assistance & guidance to the community health supervisors to set up a local health shura committee (LHC) in the community.
  • Prepare and collect monthly activity reports.
  • Prepare a monthly work plan.
  • Give advice and support to the staff of health facilities on related tasks.
  • Provide support to the heads of the clinics to solve their problems and shortcomings
  • Support & supervise the staff of health facilities and ensure that the protocols are followed.
  • Provide job awareness and on-the-job training for new medical staff hired in clinics.
  • Supervise the sanitation and hygiene in the clinics, particularly the waste disposal systems.
  • Report any epidemics or public health problems raised in the catchment area.
  • Ensure that drug utilization and consumption are based on the treatment guideline.
  • Be willing and flexible to perform any other tasks when assigned by the project manager.

Job Requirements:

  • Medical Doctor degree.
  • 5 years’ relevant experience in the same field.
  • Certificate in English language.
  • Excellent computer knowledge.

Skills required:

  • Strong presentation and communication skills, oral and written in  Dari, Pashto, and English.
  • Must be proactive being a member of the Provincial Management Team.
  • Must be patient, diplomatic, and professional
  • Ability to carry out responsibilities and make decisions independently.
  • Must have strong facilitation skills and work as a team player.
  • Actively shares relevant information.
  • Clearly communicates and listens to feedback on changing priorities and procedures.
  • Writes clearly and effectively, adapting wording and style to the intended audience.
  • Local staff will be preferred.
