Bakhter Development Network (BDN) was established and officially registered in Afghanistan in 2001 as an Afghan non-governmental, non-profit, non-political, and developmental organization. BDN operates in accordance with its constitution in three main thematic areas: health, education, and agriculture and livestock. With its current focus on public health and nutrition, BDN helps communities achieve their developmental goals, while its wider vision is a world of enabled communities working towards a brighter future.

Presently, BDN is actively involved in various initiatives, including the Health Emergency Response Additional Financing (HER AF) undertaking in Balkh and Maidan Wardak Provinces. Additionally, the organization is executing projects such as the Targeted Supplementary Feeding Program (TSFP), AFIAT, and GC 7 in the Balkh Provinces.

Job Descriptions:

The CDC Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, controlling, and following up on CDC activities under the supervision of the CDC Officer.

  • Work with the health facilities staff to ensure accurate data collection and management of the data
  • Ensure and maintain appropriate CDC record-keeping
  • Supervise health centers, district hospitals, and PH for CDC activities.
  • To participate in the emergency preparedness response (EPR) teams to outbreaks and epidemics in the province.
  • To ensure sufficient stock of drugs and other equipment for emergencies at the project office.
  • Ensure that IP and waste management procedures are applied in all HFs
  • Ensure availability and proper use of PPE and IP-needed equipment in all HFs
  • Ensure that all Communicable disease patients are treated according to MoPH guidelines.
  • Collect and Analyze the TB quarterly reports and provide feedback and improvement plans to all health facilities.
  • Attend the health facility coordination meeting and provide CDC reports-related feedback.
  • Prepare action plans based on MOPH/M&E and GCMU findings to HFs.
  • Conduct TB, malaria, and HIV training for the facility-level staff in his/her province.
  • Provide on-the-job training to health facilities staff on TB, malaria, HIV/AIDs, and other communicable diseases.
  • Prepare an action plan for long-term and short-term activities related to CDC objectives.
  • Any other Official tasks delegated by the supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  • Medical doctor degree.
  • 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Certificate in the English language.
  • Excellent computer knowledge.
  • Able to travel within the districts of Maidan Wardak Province.
  • Honest and trustworthy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English & local languages.
  • Must have strong facilitation skills and work as a team player.
  • Interest and ability to travel extensively in the field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, specifically in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Local staff will be preferred.
