About Tashabos Educational Organization (TEO):

Tashabos program currently focus on youth socio-economic empowerment through revealing their hidden talents. Tashabos teaching prepares students with knowledge, skills, attitudes, values, management and leadership. It strives to inspire youth towards leadership, risk-taking, creativity and innovation to be socio-economically empowered. The Tashabos (entrepreneurship) program is adaptable to various types of beneficiaries. Today we have Tashabos alumni/entrepreneurs relying on their own supporting their families and contributing to economy.

Tashabos reaches Afghan teenagers at a formative period in their lives, when an understanding of free markets, entrepreneurship, and civic responsibility and participation can shape their future. The Tashabos curriculum is taught in both Dari and Pashto. The primary objective of Tashabos is to instill in Afghan youth an awareness of the values of entrepreneurship, market economics, and good governance. Tashabos Educational Organization TEO teaches youth the skills necessary to become entrepreneurs through educational activities, including training on market-based economies, fighting poverty and corruption, and the promotion of good governance and ethical business practices.

The Tashabos entrepreneurship curriculum, developed and promoted over several years by CIPE Kabul, provides teenagers lessons in the nature and means of business development in a free market economy.

Job Descriptions:

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBLY

The Project Manager manages, leads and implements the Economic Resilience Process (TERP), provides day-to-day technical support especially proposal writing, reporting and communication tasks, event management, working with private sectors and group discussions/ policy discussions to the TEO and Tashabos teams. The Project Manager is accountable for successful delivery of all TEO programs activities as per the program description, which is detailing the activities. He/she represents TEO at all concerned stakeholders, venues and foums.    

Internal Relationships:  The Project Manager will be in contact with Executive Director on a regular basis, while with Program Officer and Admin Finance and HR Officer who also implement TEO program activities on a need base. 

External Relationships: Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MoIC), particularly Micro, Small, Medium Enterprise Development Department, Provincial Industry and Commerce Directorates (PICDs), the Private Sector, Businesspeople, Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Afghanistan Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AWCCI) and other stakeholders in Kabul, Parwan, Nangarhar and Bamyan, Provinces as well as in close coordination with the Executive Director with the stakeholders within the Private Sector and International Community.

Job Requirements:

  1. Takes responsibility for the successful implementation, including planning, direction, supervision and mentoring of Tashabos project/TERP, and operational monitoring of the Tashabos project.
  2. Visits Tashbos project activities in Kabul, Parwan, Bamay and Nangarhar;
  3. Collects data on the TERP activities in the four provinces:
    • In order to facilitate groups discussions with desired results, prepares professional and standard qualitative and quantitative methodical questionnaire.
    • Conducts baseline surveys and/or organizes group discussion with participants from the Private Sector, businesspeople, Provincial Industry and Commerce Directorates (PICDs) and other stakeholders such as Tashabos alumni and budding entrepreneurs,
    • Collects row data, process the date, computerize the data, analyze the data and produce quality reports,
    • Conducts capacity building training in business management for the project stakeholders.
    • Conducts national event/conference for making strategy for the sustainability of The Economic Resilience Process in the target provinces.
  4. Looks for funding opportunities, RFPs and writes proposals accordingly.
  5. Drafts minutes of meetings he/she attends;
  6. Drafts reports;
    • Weekly;
    • Monthly;
    • Quarterly;
    • Annually;
  7. Coordinates TERP activities with governmental and non-governments organizations and authorities.
  8.  Coordinates project activities with TEO team (Admin Finance Officer, Program Officer, Associates, Program Assistant and TEO Director);
  9. Coordinates the TERP’s activities with Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MoIC), particularly Micro, Small, Medium Enterprise Development Department, Provincial Industry and Commerce Directorates (PICDs), the Private Sector, Businesspeople, Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Afghanistan Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AWCCI) and other stakeholders
  10. The Project Manager professionally/properly documents TERP’s activities and maintains detailed project files as required by TEO and donor/s, while ensures that other relevant units have copies of the official documents.
  11. In case required, contributes to TEO policies ‘and manuals development;

 

REQUIREMENTS

Education

MBA, BA degree in business management, Public administration, public policy, and development studies or equivalent work experience, preferably both.

Experience   

  • Three to five years’ experience in program and project management, proposal writing, project/program design, implementation, planning, reporting, and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Working experience in an international/national organizations is essential.

  • Ability to communicate the vision, goals, and objectives of TEO to staff and various external stakeholders.
  • Have excellent project/program implementation knowledge and skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in English.
  • Have excellent proposal writing skills.
  • Have excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Good diplomatic and negotiating skills.
  • Familiarity with donors’ requirements and respective program management.
  • Respect to the code of conduct of the organization.
  • Fluency in oral and written Dari and Pashto languages.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with international and national colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Offices: Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SPSS and other required work related software.
