General Description of Task:

A Project foreman is a skilled and technical who is responsible for all project activities in the field. They plan, schedule, manage all the tasks of their assigned project to assure accuracy, proper resources, and quality from start to finish.

A project foreman oversees all aspects of an assigned project, including planning, implementing, and assisting with the site engineer. They spend time at the job site ensuring work is completed efficiently with no errors or negative impacts on the timeline. The Project foreman also provides project progress reports to all and facilitates communication throughout the project’s lifecycle.

Job Descriptions:

  • Having good leadership skills and ability to communicate and report effectively.
  • Able to solving community and project challenges.  
  • Selection of skilled/unskilled labors with coordination of field responsibilities and assistance of related selection committee.
  • Supervise the work and the labors at the project locations.
  • Prepare and take the daily attendance sheet and make sure the labors’ present.
  • Distribute the coupons before the food/cash distribution according to the attendance records.
  • Make sure the foods safety in the warehouse and report to the project manager in case of any problems.
  • Manage and help the distribution team in distribution of food for the labors.
  • Report daily/weekly/monthly activities/progress of project-to-project manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by program leadership (project coordinator/ Project Manager

 

Job Requirements:

  • Civil Engineers who graduated recently are highly recommended by the local communities.
  • experience of 3-4 years in project foreman or construction engineering.
  • Overall  4 to 6 years experience working with non-profit organizations (NGO) with international NGO experience preferred. 
  • Experience using/processing data software (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills required, with the capability and willingness to travel to conduct on-site research at project locations with people from many different communities and backgrounds.
  • High attention to detail, effective time management skills, strong work ethic, a willingness to learn new skills, and the ability to be a self-starter.
  • Excellent spoken and written English and Dari, with Pashto as an advantage
