The organization was informally established in 2012 and was officially registered with the ministry of economy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in 2013. Registration number (2852) was awarded to ASLO through NGOs Department of Ministry of Economy Kabul Afghanistan.

LEGAL STATUS
ASLO is an Afghan non-governmental, non-political, non-profit and non-partisan organization and has the status of legal entity. The organization was informally established in 2012 and was officially registered with the ministry of economy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in 2013.

A Deputy Manager - Finance & Accounts is a key role in the finance and accounting department of
an organization. The following are the key responsibilities of a Deputy Manager - Finance &
Accounts:
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- The Deputy Manager will be responsible for preparing financial projections, budgets, and
forecasts for the organization.
- They will analyse financial data and provide recommendations for improving financial
performance.
- Assist in the development of financial strategies and long-term financial goals.
- Prepare and review financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses for management.
- Support the preparation of annual budgets and monitor financial performance against
targets.
Financial Reporting:
- The Deputy Manager will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial reports,
including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. They will ensure
that financial reports are accurate and in compliance with accounting standards.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely recording of
transactions.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance
with accounting standards.
- Monitor and ensure timely reconciliation of accounts, including bank accounts and
intercompany balances.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- The Deputy Manager will be responsible for managing the accounts payable and receivable
functions, including processing vendor invoices, reconciling vendor statements, and
managing customer payments.
Treasury Management:
- The Deputy Manager will be responsible for managing the organization's cash flow and
ensuring that sufficient funds are available to meet financial obligations.
Tax Compliance:
- The Deputy Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the organization is compliant with
all relevant tax regulations, including preparing and filing tax returns.
Audit Coordination:
- The Deputy Manager will be responsible for coordinating with external auditors and ensuring
that financial statements are audited in a timely and accurate manner.
Teat Management & Leadership:
- Provide leadership and support to the finance team, fostering a collaborative and productive
work environment.
- Support the professional development of finance staff, including training and mentoring.
- Ensure appropriate delegation of responsibilities and maintain efficient workflows within the
finance department.
Budget and cost Control:
- Assist in the preparation, monitoring, and evaluation of the company’s budgets.
- Monitor departmental spending and ensure effective cost control measures are implemented.
- Identify opportunities for cost-saving initiatives and financial efficiency improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s or professional
certification like ACCA or CPA is preferred)
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial management, with at least 2 years in a
leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP)
- Excellent understanding of local tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems. Specially QuickBooks.
