ActionAid-Afghanistan committed itself a long-term work with poor and excluded sections of the society through the Human Rights Based Development Approach, WASH, and Livelihood Programs in multiple provinces of Afghanistan.
Farmar field School will directly report to relevant Province Project Coordinator and will be responsible for establishment of Farmer Field Schools and Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) sites and will organize capacity building events / trainings on FFs, facilitation skill right from plantation to cultivation Season.
• Facilitate field level interventions for establishment of Farmer Field Schools and Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) sites.
• Facilitate and participate in capacity building events/ trainings on FFS, facilitation skills, farmer training curricula, On Farm Water Management (OFWM), monitoring methods, and others.
• Facilitate and undertake local level ToT for extension officers, staff and/or employees from partner organizations (entities) on FFS, CSA and OFWM.
• Facilitate and undertake the Training of Farmer Facilitators (ToFF) and provide continuous backstopping to the Farmer Facilitator.
• Provide technical backstopping to run the FFS/CSA practices and facilitate ongoing project related activities in the selected River Basins;
• Enter FFS Facilitators and learners data in Kobo database regularly to support Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Team to undertake pre and post monitoring of the FFS sites, learners and trainings offered.
• Closely work with district team lead/ supervisor and sectoral specialist for collection and compilation of all the information related to FFS/CSA, economic analysis, Cost Benefit Analysis related data from respective district;
• Facilitate field level activities related to mobilization, formation and facilitation of FFS/CRA in the target villages in close coordination with Irrigation, Agriculture, Livestock and Forrest Departments or partners organizations (if any)
• Conduct regular field visits of the project area and provide guidance and recommendation for appropriate smart and efficient irrigation, water management practices, crops, vegetables and livestock area specific interventions for establishment of FFS/CRA.
• Support district team lead for maintaining a meaningful working relation with local government agriculture department for implementation of FFS/CSA
• Assist Water Basin Lead and sectoral specialist in the day-to-day monitoring of FFS/CSA interventions and compile monthly monitoring sheets (online/offline).
• Ensure timely submission of FFS/CSA monthly work plan and progress reports (monthly, quarterly, and final) to supervisor.
• Within the present Terms of Reference, carry out other duties as requested by Project Manager / Project Coordinator .

Experience:
Working knowledge of English, Dari, Pashto, and other local languages used in province would be an asset.
