The Organization for Development of Economic Social and Capacity Building (ODESC) is a non profit organization dedicated to enhancing the economic and social well-being of communities through strategic capacity-building initiatives. Established in 2016 in Afghanistan, ODESC addresses critical needs and fosters long-term development in vulnerable regions.
Create and enforce safety policies and procedures that comply with local, national, and international regulations.
Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate identified hazards.
Design and implement safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement.
Ensure the company complies with environmental laws and regulations.
Develop and implement environmental management plans, including waste management, pollution control, and resource conservation.
Conduct environmental impact assessments and manage hazardous materials.
Promote occupational health and hygiene practices to prevent workplace illnesses.
Develop health and wellness programs to enhance employee well-being.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous substances to protect worker health.
Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
Conduct regular emergency drills and training sessions to prepare employees for potential emergencies.
Coordinate with local emergency services and regulatory agencies during incidents.
Stay updated on health, safety, and environmental regulations and ensure company compliance.
Prepare and submit required reports and documentation to regulatory agencies.
Work with regulatory bodies during inspections and audits.
Maintain records of safety inspections, audits, incidents, and training activities.
Prepare reports and presentations on health, safety, and environmental performance for management review.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of compliance-related activities.
Identify opportunities for improving safety, health, and environmental performance.
Lead or participate in safety committees and other groups focused on HES issues.
Implement new technologies and best practices to enhance safety and environmental protection.
Any other duty given by the Manager.
Ability to support his/her subordinates.
Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
Ability to interact effectively with personnel.
Fluent in spoken and written English, as well as the local language.
Good knowledge of using Microsoft Office package.
Strong team player.
