About MCC-JCL Aynak Minerals Company Limited:

MCC-JCL Aynak Minerals Company Limited (“the Company”) has been incorporated in Afghanistan as a limited liability company on 09 September 2008  under the Corporation and Limited Liability Companies Law of Afghanistan. The registered office of the company is situated in Kabul, Afghanistan.The company was established by MCC Tongsin Resource Limited (“MCCT”) and Jiangxi Copper Company Limited (“JCL”) for the implementation of the Mining Contract for the Aynak Copper Deposit signed between the Government of Afghanistan and MCC-Jiangxi Copper Consortium (“the Consortium”) on 25 May 2008 (effective date 08 September 2008). The Consortium comprises of China Metallurgical Group Corporation (“MCC”) (parent entity of MCCT), and JCL. Under the Mining Contract, the Consortium was granted mineral rights for a period of 30 years to undertake exploration, exploitation, processing, smelting and sale of the Aynak Copper Deposit

Job Descriptions:

Media Relations:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with journalists, media outlets, and influencers.
  • Prepare and distribute press releases, media kits, and briefing materials.
  • Coordinate and facilitate media interviews, press conferences, and media briefings.

·  Content Creation:

  • Draft and edit engaging content for press releases, blog posts, newsletters, speeches, and social media.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to produce multimedia content (videos, graphics, etc.) aligned with the organization’s message.

·  Media Monitoring:

  • Track media coverage and prepare daily/weekly media reports and analysis.
  • Monitor public perception and flag any reputational risks or negative coverage.

·  Campaign Support:

  • Support media strategy for campaigns, events, or key initiatives.
  • Assist in planning and executing public awareness and media outreach campaigns.

·  Social Media Management:

  • Manage the organization’s social media presence in coordination with the digital team.
  • Ensure consistency in messaging across all platforms.

·  Crisis Communication:

  • Assist in drafting statements and managing media inquiries during crisis situations.
  • Help manage the organization’s public image and communication strategy during sensitive times.

· Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Coordinate with internal departments and external partners for media-related needs.
  • Ensure alignment of messaging across various communication channels

Job Requirements:

  • Education:
    Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience:
    Minimum 5 years of professional experience in media relations, public relations, journalism, or communications. Experience working in a corporate, NGO, government, or media environment is preferred.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong English Language in written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in media monitoring tools and social media platforms.
    • Experience managing media campaigns and liaising with journalists.
    • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure.
    • Knowledge of digital media trends and multimedia content production is a plus.
  • Additional:
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Flexibility to handle urgent media requests and work extended hours if needed.
