Acted Afghanistan:

Acted is working in 20 provinces in Afghanistan around the country. These provinces are affected by natural and man-made disasters. Acted provides relief and emergency assistance to vulnerable populations affected by displacements, conflicts, or natural disasters, in the fields of agriculture, shelter, wash, and food security.

Job Descriptions:

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Capacity Building Officer – Business Development to support and strengthen Local Organizations (LOs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) involved in promoting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This role is critical in enhancing organizational capacity through tailored training, technical support, and strategic mentorship.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver customized training programs in business development, financial management, and organizational growth.
  • Conduct capacity needs assessments and develop practical learning materials accordingly.
  • Mentor and support LO/CSO partners in improving operational systems and adopting efficient tools.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (Logistics, Finance, HR, etc.) for smooth training implementation.
  • Monitor training impact and produce technical reports, case studies, and success stories.
  • Represent the organization in external coordination meetings with government departments and stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely implementation of monthly, quarterly, and annual plans.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business  or Public Administration from a recognized university (Master’s degree in business administration is an asset and will be given preference).

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of proven experience in capacity building, business development, or working with LO/CSOs or MSMEs.
  • Demonstrated experience in training design, facilitation, and monitoring is essential.
  • Prior work in development or humanitarian sectors, preferably with INGOs or NGOs, is highly desirable.

Other Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of MSME dynamics and civil society development in Afghanistan.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Fluent in Dari, Pashto, and English (spoken and written).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to travel to field sites as required.
  • Strong skills in report writing, data analysis, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Ability to translate technical documents between English, Dari, and Pashto is an advantage.
