Organization for Sustainable Aid in Afghanistan (OSAA) is a non-governmental, non-profit, women-led organization with no dependence on any political group or party and is a development and humanitarian organization. OSAA was officially registered with the Afghan Ministry of Economy as a national NGO in 2015, aiming to foster the economic and social development of society, in particular women in Afghanistan. OSAA is committed to adopting a sustainable approach to development with long-term positive impacts on society.

The organization’s core founders and board of directors consist of highly educated, experienced, and goal-oriented women and men who endeavor to use their knowledge and experience to empower women and young girls through vocational training, social capacity building, education, employment services, and the development of handicrafts programs in Afghanistan.

Job Descriptions:

The PSS Worker will provide psychosocial support services to beneficiaries through individual and group counseling sessions, identifying their psychosocial needs and promoting mental well-being through training and community-based activities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. PSS Service Delivery:

•    Conduct individual and group counseling sessions with beneficiaries.

•    Identify the psychosocial needs of vulnerable individuals.

•    Provide training and activities that promote mental well-being within the community.

2. Identification and Referral:

•    Identify cases requiring specialized support (e.g., violence, abuse, or severe psychological trauma).

•    Refer individuals to relevant authorities or specialized teams as appropriate.

3. Group Activities and Empowerment:

•    Organize and implement workshops and supportive group activities.

•    Strengthen social, communication, and coping skills of beneficiaries.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

•    Maintain accurate records of sessions and activities.

•    Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports to the supervisor.

5. Intersectoral Collaboration:

•    Cooperate with protection, education, health, and community teams.

•    Participate in team meetings and project-related discussions.

6. Community Capacity Building:

•    Educate community members and parents on coping strategies and psychosocial skills.

•    Establish community support groups.

7. Computer & IT Skills:

•    Use Microsoft Word for writing reports, minutes, and documentation.

•    Use Microsoft Excel for data entry, analysis, and reporting.

•    Use KoBoToolbox (KoBo) for digital data collection, form management, and data analysis.


 

Job Requirements:

Skills & Qualifications:

•    Education: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or related field.

•    Experience: Previous experience in PSS or supporting vulnerable populations is an advantage.

•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

•    Ability to manage crisis situations and provide supportive counseling.

•    Accurate documentation and reporting skills.

•    Teamwork and intersectoral collaboration abilities.

•    Computer literacy: Proficient in Word, Excel, and KoBoToolbox.
