  • ASLO is an Afghan non-governmental, non-political, non-profit and non-partisan organization and has the status of legal entity. The organization was informally established in 2012 and was officially registered with the ministry of economy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in 2013.

Job Descriptions:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain ESHS policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local, national, and international regulations.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and social regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Conduct regular ESHS audits, risk assessments, and inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and reporting for accidents, near misses, and environmental incidents.
  • Promote a culture of safety and social responsibility through training, awareness programs, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure ESHS compliance throughout the organization and supply chain.
  • Manage environmental impact assessments, waste management, emissions control, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting for regulatory agencies, certification bodies, and senior management.
  • Drive continuous improvement in ESHS performance using data-driven insights and industry best practices.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in ESHS management or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental, health, safety, and social regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001, local regulations).
  • Proven experience in conducting risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication and training skills to effectively engage employees at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and recommend actionable improvements.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Experience working in [industry-specific experience if needed, e.g., construction, manufacturing, oil & gas, etc.] is a plus.
