Job Description

Main responsibilities for this position:

  1. Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of agriculture and livestock activities
  2. Conduct capacity building in agriculture, livestock, and enterprise development
  3. Collaborate with stakeholders for project alignment
  4. Conduct regular site visits to monitor, analyse, and report on project activities
  5. Ensure quality assurance and compliance with technical standards and donor requirements

Tasks:

  • Prepare detailed workplans, budgets, and implementation schedules.
  • Oversee field execution of agriculture and livestock interventions.
  • Track progress and adjust activities to ensure timely delivery.
  • Deliver practical training sessions to partners and communities.
  • Develop user-friendly training materials and guidelines.
  • Provide ongoing coaching to strengthen skills and practices.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with government, NGOs, and partners.
  • Share project plans and updates to ensure harmonization.
  • Support joint activities and exchange information for better alignment.
  • Visit field sites to observe activity progress and verify compliance.
  • Collect and analyze data on crop production, livestock, and market conditions.
  • Prepare monitoring reports highlighting issues and recommendations.
  • Review field activities to confirm adherence to technical guidelines.
  • Identify gaps and corrective actions to improve quality and compliance.
  • Ensure documentation meets donor and organizational standards.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Agronomy, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience implementing agriculture and livestock projects.
  • Certification in adult learning methods or training facilitation.
  •  Proven experience delivering technical trainings to farmers or partner staff.
  • Experience working with government agriculture departments and NGOs.
  • Experience in coordination, communication, or stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience in field monitoring, data collection, and reporting.
  • Experience in agricultural/livestock assessment methods.
  • Project planning and organizational skills
  • Technical knowledge of agriculture and livestock systems
  • Training facilitation and communication skills
  • Ability to simplify technical concepts for diverse learners
