About GSRO
Green Social Research Organization (GSRO) is a national, women-led non-governmental organization established in 2015 and registered with the Ministry of Economy under registration number 3612. Headquartered in Herat Province, GSRO has extensive experience implementing humanitarian and development programs across western Afghanistan, including Herat, Badghis, Farah, Ghor, and Nimrouz.
GSRO focuses on protection (GBV prevention, MHPSS, and referrals), women’s economic empowerment, climate-smart agriculture, emergency response, and research. The organization works closely with women, girls, IDPs, returnees, and other vulnerable groups through gender-responsive, rights-based, and community-driven approaches. GSRO maintains strong institutional systems for program quality, accountability, safeguarding, and compliance with donor and national requirements.

The Field Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating, supervising, and ensuring effective field-level implementation of the UN Women–AHF funded project in Herat City. The role is critical to ensuring timely delivery of activities under tight donor timelines, which is why this position is recruited through a fast-track process to enable immediate project mobilization and compliance with UN Women implementation schedules.
