Established in 1991 by a group of educated Afghan women in exile, the Afghan Women's Educational Center (AWEC) is a nonprofit, nonsectarian, nonpolitical, and nongovernmental organization dedicated to advocating for and raising awareness about the rights of women and children in Islam.

Our core activities focus on empowering women, eliminating violence, and increasing women's participation in both domestic and societal spheres.

With over three decades of experience, AWEC possesses a profound understanding of Afghanistan's socioeconomic, cultural, and political landscape. Since 2002, AWEC has collaborated with women and communities to enhance access to education, health, and vocational services in Afghanistan. Our initiatives extend to livelihood improvement, protection, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), humanitarian aid, grant management, capacity building, social rehabilitation, cohesion, and justice. AWEC has successfully implemented projects in Logar, Faryab, Kapisa, Khost, Panjshir, Wardak, Kabul, Balkh, Herat, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Badakhshan, Parwan, Paktia, Paktika, Laghman, Nuristan, and Bamyan provinces, maintaining an active presence in Kabul, Balkh, Herat, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Badakhshan, Parwan, Paktia, Paktika, Laghman, Nuristan, and Bamyan.

The Data Collector Couple will support the Monitoring & Evaluation unit by conducting Post Distribution Monitoring (PDM) of MPCA under the ARR Project. The assignment aims to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality data collection from project beneficiaries to assess project effectiveness, accountability, and impact.

Responsibilities:

Conduct Post Distribution Monitoring (PDM) data collection in assigned locations in Herat Province.

Collect quantitative and qualitative data from beneficiaries using approved questionnaires and tools (paper-based or digital).

Ensure accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of collected data.

Follow data collection methodologies, guidelines, and ethical standards set by the M&E team.

Participate in training sessions related to data collection tools and methodologies.

Submit completed questionnaires and reports on time to the M&E Manager or assigned supervisor.

Report any challenges, inconsistencies, or field issues during data collection.

Coordinate with field teams and community representatives to facilitate smooth data collection.

Respect cultural sensitivities and ensure respectful interaction with beneficiaries.

Education And Experience:

A minimum of high school graduation; bachelor’s degree in social sciences, statistics, development studies, or a related field is an advantage.

A Minimum of 2 years of experience in data collection, surveys, or field monitoring (experience in humanitarian or NGO projects preferred).

Previous experience in PDM, assessments, or evaluations, prefferably working with returnees or vulnerable communities is advantage.

Knowledge and Skills:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to collect accurate data and follow instructions carefully.

Basic knowledge of data collection tools (Kobo, ODK, or similar) is an advantage.

Ability to work independently and under pressure in field conditions.

Fluency in local languages (Dari and/or Pashto); basic English is an asset.

Strong sense of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
