ASLO is registered with Ministry of Economy of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. The organization was informally established in 2012 and was officially registered with the ministry of economy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in 2013.  Registration number (2852) was awarded to ASLO through NGOs Department of Ministry of Economy Kabul Afghanistan.

Job Descriptions:

Position Summary:

1. Background

The Liaison Specialist will support the organization by strengthening coordination, communication, and relationships with government authorities, donors, UN agencies, INGOs, clusters, and other relevant stakeholders at local and national levels. The position plays a key role in facilitating approvals, information sharing, reporting, and smooth implementation of programs in compliance with organizational and donor procedures.

The Liaison Specialist is responsible for representing the organization externally, ensuring effective coordination with stakeholders, supporting reporting requirements, and facilitating communication between program, finance, and management teams to ensure timely and compliant operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main focal point between the organization and government departments, NGOs, UN agencies, and donors.
  • Facilitate coordination meetings, official communications, and follow-ups with relevant authorities and partners.
  • Support registration, approvals, and official correspondence with line ministries and coordination bodies.
  • Represent the organization in external meetings, workshops, and coordination forums when assigned.
  • Register the new project in MoEc online portal.
  • Prepare and follow the Sector report with Provincial Offices.
  • Prepared MoEc Bi annual report.
  • Prepare MoU
  • Prepare the official letters.
  • Collect, review, and consolidate information from Program and Finance teams for reporting purposes.
  • Ensure reports comply with donor requirements, organizational procedures, and agreed timelines.
  • Maintain organized records of correspondence, reports, and official documents.
  • Ensure all liaison and coordination activities follow organizational policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Support compliance with donor, government, and coordination body requirements.
  • Identify procedural gaps and inform management for corrective action.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Business Administration, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum 6–8 years of relevant experience working with local and/or international NGOs.
  • Strong familiarity with organizational procedures, coordination mechanisms, and reporting requirements.
  • Good knowledge of programmatic and financial concepts related to NGO project implementation.
  • Proven experience in coordination, liaison, and external relations.

5. Skills and Competencies

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Good report-writing and documentation skills.
  • Ability to understand and interpret program and financial information.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.

6. Reporting Line

The Liaison Specialist will report directly to Senior Management / Country Director (or relevant supervisor as assigned).
