Women Activities & Social Service Association (WASSA) was established in 2002 in Afghanistan as a non-governmental organization, committed to seeking ways for women's empowerment in Afghanistan. WASSA aims to promote women's equal participation in socio-economic sectors of the country. WASSA works directly with communities to bring change in the social attitude of the community regarding women.

Project Management:
• Manage projects in western region provinces (Herat, Farah, Ghor and Badghis), ensuring timely completion in line with the approved plan and targets.
• Support project staff and collaborate with the Head of Program on project planning, implementation, budgeting and monitoring.
• Contribute to operational plans for projects in the Western Region, ensuring smooth implementation at provincial and regional levels.
• Plan and oversee the implementation of livelihood and protection, components of projects, monitoring day-to-day activities.
Monitoring and Supervision:
• Conduct timely monitoring of components to measure results, outcomes, and outputs, facilitating continuous improvements.
• ensure provision of evidence-based messages and success stories reflecting smooth implementation of activities.
• Supervise and monitor centers (all provinces) to ensure quality and integrity in project delivery.
• Identify and communicate successes, challenges, and lessons learned to the Head of Program.
Result-Based Monitoring and Implementation:
• Undertake regular field visits to gather information on activity results.
• Analyze monitoring and evaluation data and produce reports.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, supervisors, officers, and colleagues to ensure effective implementation and monitoring.
• Ensure that monitoring and evaluation findings are incorporated into future activities and implementation plans.
• Develop and oversee the implementation of data collection and analysis instruments and methodologies.
• Ensure the effective functioning of the beneficiary compliance and Complaints Feedback Response Mechanism (CFRM).
• Ensure capacity among WASSA staff on beneficiary accountability and CFRM.
Knowledge and Lesson Learning Management:
• Disseminate knowledge and lessons learned from project activities among team and Field Coordinators.
• Organize learning events to capture best practices and lessons learned.
• Ensure timely information on progress and results is available through data compilation, organization, and analysis.
• Document and share lessons learned and best practices.
• Contribute to the dissemination and sharing of best practices and lessons learned.
Budget Management: Ensure effective budget planning, monitoring, and utilization of project funds in accordance with donor requirements and organizational policies and value for money.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including donor, local authorities, community leaders, and other NGOs to facilitate project implementation and ensure sustainability.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks to project implementation and develop mitigation strategies and address them in a timely manner.
Gender Mainstreaming: Ensure that gender considerations are mainstreamed throughout project planning, implementation, monitoring, and phase out processes.
Conflict Sensitivity: Incorporate conflict sensitivity principles into implementation to minimize potential negative impacts on conflict dynamics.
Coordination and Networking: Coordinate proactively with related clusters and other organizations/projects working in the region to share information, avoid duplication of efforts, and identify opportunities for collaboration.
Capacity Building: Identify capacity-building needs of project staff and develop and implement capacity-building plans to address them including on job training.
Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate reporting to donors, line departments, and internal and external stakeholders according to donor requirements and organizational standards.
Sustainability: Ensure that project activities are implemented in a way that promotes sustainability and long-term impact beyond the life of the project.
At least 7 years of experience in project management, specifically in the field of livelihood, protection or related areas, in humanitarian context/NGOs.
• Experience in managing projects in west region provinces of Afghanistan.
• Experience in working with local partners and stakeholders in a collaborative manner.
• Experience in monitoring , including implementation of M&E frameworks.
Skills:
• Strong project management skills, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. Ability to work with persons from different ethnicities, languages, and cultural backgrounds
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and strategically.
• Ability to work in a team, often under stressful conditions with line manager and other team members.
• Knowledge of gender issues and women's empowerment in Afghanistan.
• Proficiency in English, Dari and Pashto, both written and spoken.
• Computer Skills: Proven working knowledge of ICDL package, outlook, and other e-mail communication.
Technical Knowledge:
• Knowledge of protection, livelihood, and MSME programming.
• Familiarity with result-based monitoring and evaluation methodologies.
• Understanding of gender mainstreaming principles and their application in project design and implementation.
Other Requirements:
• Ability to travel frequently to project sites in western regional provinces.
• Ability to work effectively in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
