About ACDO:

Asia Community Development Organization (ACDO) is an Afghan non-governmental, non-political, and non-profit humanitarian organization established in 2014 and registered with the Government of Afghanistan under the supervision of Ministry of Economy (MoEc) with a mission to provide humanitarian and development assistance to the vulnerable, at-risk, and underserved people throughout the country.

ACDO responds to the needs of deprived and marginalized rural and urban communities by managing and utilizing the available scarce resources in a well-organized, efficient, effective, transparent, and dignified manner to enhance resilience, boost access to education, health services, and infrastructure, ensure food and livelihood security, and promote social protection and inclusion.

ACDO has an active presence in most parts of the country and intends to expand its operations to the remaining provinces, as to transform itself into a leading and developed organization that will deliver to and support large number of people who have been affected by the long-protracted and sudden on-set emergencies and regardless of the hardest circumstances that exist in Afghanistan, ACDO has managed to deliver humanitarian and development assistance in most part of country.

Job Descriptions:

Community Mobilizers will support beneficiary engagement, community coordination, and implementation of field activities at community level.

  • Facilitate community entry and coordination with local structures
  • Support beneficiary identification and verification
  • Mobilize communities for trainings and CfW activities
  • Support feedback, complaints, and accountability mechanisms
  • Assist with routine monitoring and data collection
  • Promote inclusive participation and safeguarding principles
  • Perform any other related tasks assigned by the supervisor/SMT.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant diploma; community development background preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong community facilitation and communication skills
  • Familiarity with local contexts and languages
  • Interpersonal and facilitation skills
  • Cultural sensitivity
  • Accountability and ethical conduct

Skills:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills in Dari and Pashto, English skills will be an asset.
  • Knowledge of the community structure, dynamics, and development.
  • At least 4 years of experience working with government and/or NGOs in hygiene promotion in the fragile environment/region.
  • Knowledge of the value of education in Holy Islam, child development, and the current trends of education in Afghanistan.
  • Ability to cope well under pressure, work irregular hours, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Sound organizational skills and ability to prioritize and deliver assignments promptly often under severe time pressures.
  • Experience in needs assessment, project monitoring & evaluation, and program development
  • Good knowledge and experience in Afghanistan Humanitarian system/context, WASH and Emergencies.
  • Experience in coordination with government authorities, communities, donors, and beneficiaries.

Language skills:

  • Fluent oral and written skills in Dari and Pashto, fluent in English will be a plus point
