About MF (Maywand Foundation):

Maywand Foundation is a national non-governmental organization implementing primary health care and community-based health programs in Afghanistan in close coordination with the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and in alignment with WHO and UNICEF standards. The Foundation supports the delivery of quality Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) services, including the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI), with the aim of reducing morbidity and mortality among women and children.

To strengthen routine immunization, cold chain management, data quality, and supportive supervision across all supported provinces, Maywand Foundation is seeking a qualified and experienced EPI Supervisor.

Job Descriptions:

  • Provide supportive supervision for EPI services in the provinces and supported health facilities.
  • Ensure implementation of National EPI Policy, WHO EPI guidelines, and MoPH standards.
  • Ensure quality of vaccination activities, EPI equipment and facilities through monthly supervision
  • Ensure proper cold chain management, vaccine handling, storage, and stock management.
  • Review EPI registers, tally sheets, and monthly reports for completeness and accuracy.
  • Coordinate closely with PPHD, Provincial EPI Officers, HMIS, and partners.
  • Develop the micro-plan for routine and outreach at the district level.
  • Conduct on-the-job training and capacity building for vaccinators and health staff.
  • Ensure timely submission of EPI and HMIS reports.
  • Participate in campaigns such as Polio, Measles, and other SIAs as required.
  • Identify gaps and recommend corrective actions to improve immunization coverage.

Job Requirements:

• Medical Doctor, Nurse, or Bachelor degree in Public Health or any other discipline with strong working background of EPI/PEI.

• Strong knowledge of MoPH EPI strategy, WHO standards, and UNICEF-supported immunization systems.

• Experience working with NGOs, UN agencies, or MoPH is an advantage.

• Willingness and ability to travel to provinces/district and remote health facilities.

• Strong reporting, communication, and coordination skills.

• Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto; and working knowledge of English
