About New Society Reconstruction & Development Organization (NSRDO)
NSRDO Background:
NSRDO is a youth-led organization founded in 2006, dedicated to empowering marginalized women, children, and people with disabilities across Afghanistan. We focus on uplifting vulnerable communities by addressing critical issues such as poverty, education, WASH, healthcare, and sustainable development. Guided by the belief that everyone deserves a fair chance at a better future, we work tirelessly to provide resources, support, and hope to those in need.
We also work in food & security, agriculture, emergency relief, nutrition, peacebuilding, livelihood, community infrastructure, and the defense of human rights. NSRDO commenced its operations in 2005. Since then, NSRDO has been operating in Kabul and other provinces of Afghanistan and has regional offices in Nangarhar, Kandahar, Herat, Kunduz, Bamyan, and Paktia Provinces, along with its head office in Kabul.
NSRDO was registered in the Ministry of Planning by decision no. (951) dated 25/6/1383 and entitled to work in the capital, Kabul, and other provinces. This is also reregistered in the Ministry of Economy by decision no. (598) dated 8/6/06. Additionally, the US Embassy, the European Commission, the Canadian Fund, UNPP, UNGM, MoLSA, MoMD, MoE, and MoPH all have NSRDO registered.
For over 20 years, we have collaborated with donors, volunteers, and partner organizations to create meaningful, lasting change. Our mission is to deliver immediate relief while implementing sustainable solutions that enhance the quality of life for future generations.
NSRDO operates solely in Afghanistan, aiming to transform itself into one of Afghanistan’s foremost- developed NGOs. Although it continues to respond to the needs of rural communities in order to improve their living condition and utilize the resource in a well and transparent manner. NSRDO endeavors to reach the most disadvantaged groups in Afghan society often under very difficult circumstances. Among those with whom NSRDO works are poor families, women, farmers, unemployed and the uneducated population across the country.

Job Description
The Education Officer is responsible for implementing the education activities, including but not limited to Early Child Care Development (ECCD) for targeted beneficiaries, community mobilization, teaching and managerial skill development for school teachers, and directing beneficiaries/students to receive their need-based education.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under the overall technical and administrative direction of the Project Manager/ Education Specialist, assist in project planning and implementation, including school assessment, teacher recruitment, teacher training, and awareness of children's caregivers.
- Undertake training needs assessments for project staff teachers with the assistance of Project Teacher Trainers in the province.
- Develop & organize on-the-job refresher training to address any gaps and build the capacity of individuals and departments targeted by the project.
- Design training for the beneficiaries following the approved proposal of the projects.
- Evaluate regularly the impact of all conducted training.
- Coordinate the monitoring of the activities according to the approved activities schedule.
- Producing initial reports of the activities and sharing these reports on time.
- Keep a record of the project, do the proper data collection, and file accordingly.
- Assist in the recruitment of Teachers and project field staff in coordination with PED and relevant policies.
- Engaging the community in activities, establishing Community Advisory Boards, and facilitating the community's understanding of the overall project.
- Coordination with relevant government departments in the province, including the provincial education department, district education departments, and the department of the economy.
- Keep the perfect record and filing system of the project activities and do the proper data collection.
- Supporting the unit head in the implementation of another educational project.
- Conduct field visits to NSRDO-targeted areas.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly result-based progressive reports to the relevant line Ministry of Education, Ministry, and clusters.
- Inspire staff to excel in their jobs while also achieving goals and meeting deadlines.
- Preparing and coordinating daily plans and activities that contribute to the objective of the project.
- Regular and on-demand field visits from the project site.
- On-time reporting of the overall activities being undertaken at the field level to the field Coordinator.
- Monitoring and supervision of the activities at the field level and sharing the findings with the Project manager and relevant staff for improvement.
- Any other tasks assigned by his line supervisor or the Education Specialist and accountable to the senior management.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Educational Management & Leadership (Teacher Education, School Improvement/School Effectiveness), development studies, social science, and related fields. (Master’s degree is preferred)
- At least 5 years of specific related experience.
- Good communication skills, particularly in the local language (Dari/Pashtu)
- Speaking and writing ability in English
- Good knowledge of the Child education system in Afghanistan
- Having experience working with Government and non-government organizations
- Ensure reports and other reports from concerned supervisors with qualitative and quantitative information.
- Skill of implementing activities in coordination with the District Education Department, other Govt. officials, local elected bodies, NGOs, project experts, and concerned community members Employee must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Organizational and time management skills are needed to ensure programs are completed by the scheduled time.
- Ability to organize and conduct different seminars, and workshops for teacher and staff development.
- Employee must be able to adjust technical language and presentation skills for audiences of all levels.
- Interpersonal skills needed to work with a variety of people throughout the organization.
- Honest judgment for assessing staff performance and capacity building of staff for smooth implementation of the program.
- Ability to work under pressure and be honest and responsible.
