About New Way Social and Development Organization (NSDO)

NSDO is a development, advocacy, and humanitarian organization established in 2011 and registered with the Ministry of Economy, Government of Afghanistan. NSDO is based in Kabul, with programming hubs across the north and northeastern provinces of the country. NSDO strives to empower the vulnerable and marginalized communities suffering from the impacts of war, natural calamities, poverty, and injustice. Additionally, NSDO is also working on the idea of integrated development, which encompasses socio-economic, cultural and good governance. Community Empowerment is the core to NSDO’s strategy to engage with grass-root groups and communities to address the root causes of poverty, inequalities and injustice.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement & Awareness

  • Conduct awareness sessions about the project in target communities.
  • Promote the importance of digital skills and youth participation.
  • Build trust and maintain relationships with community leaders and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate conflict transformation and support problem solving initiatives at the community level, fostering dialogue, cooperation and peaceful resolution of disputes.
  • Promote and ensure environmental and social safeguarding ESS practices across all program activities, raising awareness within communities and supporting compliance with organizational standards.

 Beneficiary Mobilization & Registration

  • Identify and mobilize eligible adolescents and youth and register them using Kobo tool and complete the TVET standard enrollment form for each of participant within the target location.
  • Support transparent and inclusive beneficiary selection processes.
  • Ensure proper registration and documentation of participants.

Support to Project Implementation

  • Assist in organizing training sessions, workshops, and events.
  • Ensure regular attendance and participation of beneficiaries.
  • Support trainers and project staff during field activities.

  • Support the training centers in ensuring timely distribution of refreshment during class days

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Collect field data and feedback from participants.
  • Maintain attendance sheets and activity records.
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly field reports.

Coordination

  • Coordinate with trainers, project team, and local authorities
  • Facilitate communication between community and project staff

Safeguarding & Inclusion

  • Promote gender equality and inclusion of vulnerable groups.
  • Ensure adherence to safeguarding, PSEA and protection policies.

Job Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Education, or related field
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in community mobilization or similar roles
  • Experience working with NGOs/INGOs is an advantage
  • Familiarity with local community structures in Kunduz

Working Conditions

Based in Kunduz Province with possible travel to training sites.
