About Shining Star Educational Organization of Afghanistan
Shining Star Educational Organization of Afghanistan (SSEOA) is a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-political organization registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan, with Registration Number 4388 dated February 18, 2018. SSEOA works in the fields of education, health, and livelihood in the remote regions of Afghanistan. SSEOA envisions creating educational opportunities for girls and women to grow, thrive, and prosper. SSEOA works to empower communities in Afghanistan through education, especially for girls, promotes peace through education, and conveys the importance of these activities all around the country. Our mission is to empower Afghans, especially girls and women in the remote regions of Afghanistan by creating educational opportunities and livelihood skills because SSEOA has a firm belief that without educating girls, peace and prosperity is not possible.
SSEOA boasts a team of highly qualified professionals renowned for their discipline, organization, efficiency, and extensive tenure within both national and international organizations. The team is spearheaded by an Executive Body comprising of the Executive Director, Deputy Director, Program Director, Finance Manager, and Program Manager, each bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the table. At the helm of strategic governance stands SSEOA's Board of Directors, comprising five distinguished members renowned for their extensive experience working with the government and NGO sector.
Job Description
The Store Keeper will be responsible for the safe receipt, storage, handling, and dispatch of food commodities (Bread and High Energy Biscuits – HEB) and other project materials under the School Feeding Project in Nuristan province. The role ensures proper warehouse management, accurate record-keeping, and compliance with WFP and SSEOA standards to maintain accountability and prevent losses.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse & Storage Management
• Receive food commodities and supplies, ensuring quantities and quality match delivery documents.
• Ensure proper storage of food items in accordance with WFP standards (stacking, ventilation, cleanliness, and safety).
• Maintain warehouse hygiene and ensure protection from pests, moisture, and damage.
• Organize warehouse layout for easy access and efficient stock movement.
Stock Management & Record Keeping
• Maintain accurate stock records including bin cards, stock registers, and inventory tracking systems.
• Update records for all incoming and outgoing goods in a timely manner.
• Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile with stock records.
• Ensure First Expiry First Out (FEFO) or First In First Out (FIFO) principles are applied.
Dispatch & Distribution Support
• Prepare and dispatch food commodities according to approved distribution plans.
• Verify quantities before dispatch and ensure proper documentation (waybills, dispatch notes).
• Coordinate with Field Monitors and distribution teams during dispatch and delivery.
• Ensure proper handover of commodities at distribution points.
Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain proper filing of all warehouse documents including delivery notes, waybills, and stock reports.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock and warehouse reports.
• Report any stock discrepancies, damages, or losses immediately to the Logistic Officer.
Compliance & Quality Control
• Ensure all storage and handling practices comply with WFP guidelines and SSEOA policies.
• Monitor quality of food commodities and report any spoilage or damage.
• Ensure transparency and accountability in all stock management processes.
Coordination & Support
• Coordinate with Logistic Officer, transporters, and field teams for smooth warehouse operations.
• Assist during loading/unloading of goods and supervise laborers if required.
• Support monitoring visits, audits, and inspections by providing required documentation.
Safeguarding & Ethics
• Uphold integrity, accountability, and transparency in warehouse operations.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, child protection, and PSEA policies.
• Report any suspected fraud, theft, or misuse of resources immediately.
Job Requirements
- At least high school diploma; certification or diploma in logistics, warehouse management, or a related field is an asset.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in warehouse or storekeeping.
- Experience with NGOs or humanitarian organizations is preferred.
- Experience in food commodity handling or WFP projects is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with local context of Nuristan is an advantage.
- Strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of warehouse management systems.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work in challenging environments.
- Basic computer skills (MS Excel for stock tracking is an asset).
- Integrity and accountability in handling resources.
