About Afghan Family Guidance Association |AFGA:

Afghan Family Guidance Association (AFGA) is an Afghan non-governmental, not-for-profit and non-political organization established in 1968. AFGA has been working in the field of Reproductive health and Rights since its inception and has recently become an associate member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).

AFGA activities were suspended due to war and conflict in the country for ten years (1992-2002) and resumed its activities in 2002 with financial support from International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).

IPPF is an alliance of 151 family planning associations known as Member Associations which has projects in over 180 countries. IPPF continues to be the largest civil society provider of reproductive health information and services in the world

Job Descriptions:

  • Collect, review, and validate the family planning and other reproductive health commodities consumption report from related implementing organizations and health facilities.
  • Provide technical support in the completion of online Quarterly Stock Review (QSR)
  • Regular update of commodities movement data in the eLMIS system from organizations and health facilities
  • Providing support to AFGA logistic and pharmacy team for take over and quality assurance of family planning and other reproductive health supplies delivered by UNFPA.
  • Provide technical support to project stakeholders for proper storage, usage, and reporting of family planning and other reproductive health commodities.
  • Development and adaptation of training and other program documents if needed.
  • Development and adaptation of data collection tools if needed.
  • Conducting regular monitoring and supervision of commodities provided to health facilities all over the country and taking part in service providers' job training.
  • Overseeing and tracking the UNFPA project commodities (family planning commodities, ERH kits, and other reproductive health items) for proper storage, expiry date, and safeguarding in AFGA central office warehouses.
  • Regular generate and analysis of information from the eLMIS system and sharing the reports with project donors and AFGA management at any time required.
  • Confirmation of health facilities distribution plans based on eLMIS for the provision of family planning and other reproductive health commodities.
  • Support program manager for the development of family planning supplies plans and reports.
  • Facilitating family planning commodities supplies-related training including RHCS, eLMIS, supply management, Long-Acting- Long-acting-reversible contraception (LARC), and RUD training for services providers and health project staff inside the organization or for external stakeholders.
  • As part of the RHCS team, the LMA officer is supposed to facilitate the RHCS and Family Planning technical committee meetings.
  • Preparing and keeping the documents and records of program commodities movement for further pursuance.
  • Provide technical support to AFGA and UNFPA RHCS teams for the family planning commodities quantification process.
  • Conduct and facilitate the family planning training follow-up.
  • Closely working and supporting UNFPA Youth Volunteers in Last Mile Assurance activities.

Job Requirements:

  • Advanced university degree in public health, Pharmacy, supply chain management, data science, or equivalent fields is required.
  •  At least 5 years of proven working experience in a medical supply management technical position particularly in the field of RH and family planning commodities management.
  • Strong communication and written skills in the English language.
  • Being familiar with global and national RHCS/ supply management systems is desirable.
  • Having experience at the level of project implementation (capacity building or supply management) with national and international NGOs is a plus point.
  • Familiar with supply management systems (eLMIS, M-supply, etc.) is desirable.
