About Afghan Family Guidance Association |AFGA:

Afghan Family Guidance Association (AFGA) is an Afghan non-governmental, not-for-profit and non-political organization established in 1968. AFGA has been working in the field of Reproductive health and Rights since its inception and has recently become an associate member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).

AFGA activities were suspended due to war and conflict in the country for ten years (1992-2002) and resumed its activities in 2002 with financial support from International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).

IPPF is an alliance of 151 family planning associations known as Member Associations which has projects in over 180 countries. IPPF continues to be the largest civil society provider of reproductive health information and services in the world

Job Descriptions:

Coordination and technical support:

  • Facilitate the coordination of RHCS Technical Committees at the national level on forecasting and quantifying the national commodity needs; and expand the RHCS coordination committee to the provincial level.
  • Support/ coordinate the inclusion of SRHR medicines in eLMIS.
  • Provide support for attending technical meetings with MoPH departments, NGOs, INGOs, and UN agencies related to RHCS activities.
  • Strengthen the supply chain management system of contraceptives and other RH commodities.
  • Support UNFPA and AFGA in quantification, forecasting, procurement, storage, distribution, and reporting of the UNFPA supplies partnership program.
  • Strengthen coordination, partnership, and decision-making by the government on RHCS.
  • Support the generation of strategic information and evidence to inform National policies and strategies for RHCS and supply chain management.
  • Facilitating the introduction of the AFGA reproductive health and family planning program and processing technical documents in MoPH relevant departments.
  • Coordinating the distribution of family planning and other life-saving commodities to private and public hospitals with close coordination with project donors and MoPH/ RHD.
  • Coordinating all project-relevant training with MoPH-relevant departments as a main focal point.
  • Contributing to project donors for the development of any technical document on a national level.
  • Led the completion of AFGA Quarterly Supply Report as per project requirement and provided support to the project partners for completion of Quarterly Supply Reports.

Monitoring and Supervision:

  • Regularly monitor the stock status of Reproductive Health Commodities at provincial and national levels and proactively report stock out of RHC and contraceptives.
  • Increase visibility of commodity safeguarding, distribution, and use through the Last mile assurance LMA process.
  • Conduct field supportive supervision and joint monitoring visits to ensure the availability of contraceptives and RH commodities in stock at all levels.
  • Regular monitoring of eLMIS data status to ensure the accurate and correct data is available in the system for report generation and stock situation analysis.

Capacity Building of the project partners and staff:

  • Coordinate RHCS and Logistic Management Information System training for project-relevant staff and adhere to correct and timely reporting.
  • build the capacity in collection, analyzing, and quality assurance of eLMIS data and reports and also improve the stock management, inventory, and distribution system.
  • Build capacity of field staff in eLMIS and RHCS.
  • Regular update of the RHCS and other family planning-related training materials as per new resources.
  • Facilitating the capacity assessment of project-relevant staff and completion of collected data analysis.
  • Any other task assigned by the line supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  • The candidate will have graduated from a well-known pharmacy faculty as Batchelor and having a master's degree in the field of pharmacy, supply management or other relevant fields is a plus point.
  • At least 10 years of proven working experience in a medical supply management technical position particularly in the field of RH and family planning commodities management.
  • Strong communication and written skills in the English language.
  • Being familiar with global and national RHCS/ supply management systems is desirable.
  • Having experience at the level of strategic planning with national and international NGOs is a plus point.

Familiar with supply management systems (eLMIS, M-supply, etc.) is desirable
