The Organization of Human Welfare (OHW) is a non-governmental organization and is a non-political, not-for-profit, and impartial organization with no bias towards a particular religion, ethnicity, or political belief. It has its own independent legal status and entity. OHW is operating since 2007 in the country with active membership with the national clusters and international donor agencies in Afghanistan including SWABAC, ACBAR, AICS, BAAG, AWN and most of the national and international Clusters operates based in Afghanistan.

Job Descriptions:

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be able to do the selection of CHWs based on the MoPH-CBHC criteria.
  • Identifying capacity building of CHWs for their capacity development.
  • Have enough knowledge of doing the community mapping and allocate time for supportive supervision from the HPs.
  • Ensure availability of the sign boards on the HPs.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly work plans based on agreed monthly plans and budgets, and in consultation with communities, and report on progress against these plans.
  • Provide monthly reporting formats and other necessary documents for the CHWS and help them to prepare their monthly reports in a proper way.
  • Conduct timely CAAC survey, Community mobilization and supply the required medicals and related kits to HPs.
  • Provision of services to the catchment area of HP based on the recommendations of CBHC of MoPH.
  • Effectively mobilize communities and ensure awareness building as per project requirements.
  • Provide leadership and supervise the work of the community foreman to implement project activities effectively at the project base, in accordance with agreed work plans, targets and project budgets.
  • Facilitate processes of community mobilization and participation to develop ownership of project activities and goals.
  • Facilitate formation of community structures or networks, particularly of women, through consultation and participation of community members. Identify potential leaders and support their development in collaboration with the Project represent.
  • Participate in baseline surveys or other project-related data collection exercises in collaboration with the Project represent.
  • Systematically capture and document lessons from the field for shared learning and identify case studies to highlight successes of the project.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Midwifery/ Nursing or related fields.
  • Three years’ experience with CBHS and BPHS of MOPH. Experience in community mobilization and community-led development an advantage and also have experience in advocacy.
  • Willing to commit to the values, mission and approaches of OHW, including those of gender equality.
  • Prepared to work hard and long when needed to achieve deadlines, targets and quality standards set by the project.
  • Committed to accountability and transparency among project staff and partners, and with communities.
  • Good interpersonal skills, flexible, patient. Meanwhile, willing to learn from and able to earn the respect of communities.
  • Be able to go Lalandar district of Kabul
  • It required knowing the Pashto & Dari languages
