Since 2007, HIHAO has been engaged in various development and relief programs with DFID, USAID, EU, SIDA, GIZ, and increasingly, HIHAO expanded its thematic focus incorporating humanitarian response programs with UNOCHA, FSAC, WFP, and UNFAO, following obtaining Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund (AHF) eligibility in 2020.

Job Descriptions:

The Monitoring officer will work under the direct supervision of the Project Manager in collaboration with project management & operation team and will be responsible for the administration of entire data & reports directly related to the project. The incumbent will be responsible for entire beneficiary data management, entire project data flow, data collection, data management and reporting in coordination with the project manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and strengthen monitoring, inspection and evaluation procedures 
  2. Monitor all project activities and progress towards achieving the project outputs and outcomes
  3. Monitor and report to the management that the project is progressing according the project work plan and that project objectives are being achieved.
  4. Monitor the sustainability of the project's results.
  5. Prepare weekly monitoring plan and share with his/her supervisor.
  6. Monitor quality of the training delivered by the trainers to the SHGs and provide feedback to the project staff for improvement.
  7. Monitor that savings is done by the group member and physical cash is available within the group.
  8. Monitor use of loan by the SHG members and suggest any improvement if that is required.
  9. Assist the project staff with monitoring tools and support them in their use.
  10. Provide feedback to the Project Manager on project strategies and activities
  11. Prepare and report on the findings and lessons learned from project innovations.
  12. Share monitoring reports with head of the units after reviewing the findings with his/her line supervisor.
  13. Applying the M&E action research or strict follow up from the monitoring findings to know if it is -achieved or not.
  14. Completing all points mentioned in the monitoring check list form in each monitoring visit.
  15. Monitoring from project activities/outputs based on the project work plan, MIS data and monitoring questionnaires.
  16. Sharing the monitoring report first verbally and then written with project managers.
  17. Updating the monitoring questionnaires regularly based on the findings from the project activities.
  18. Focusing on learning from project activities and reporting for improvement of project or program activities.
  19. Perform any other task as required.

 

Job Requirements:

  • University degree in M&E, data analysis, BA, BBA, BSc, Economy, Accounting, or other relevant disciplines.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in a similar position in humanitarian food assistance/CBT projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, self-starter, and able to work independently.
  • Experience in leading multi-cultural, multi-lingual teams.
  • Good computer skills especially the Microsoft Office package, data analysis application, knowledge of IT would be an advantage.
  • Committed and honest in his work and organization.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and proven ability to follow procedures, complete tasks, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure in a cooperative, team-oriented environment.
