Summary of Key Functions

The SRHR Advisor will play a critical role in providing technical expertise and guidance on all matters related to the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights program under the Health Equity and Rights Program. She will work closely with the project team, stakeholders, and partners to design, implement, and monitor SRHR programs and interventions. The advisor will contribute to policy development, capacity building, and advocacy efforts, and ensure the delivery of high-quality SRHR services to targeted populations.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide technical expertise and guidance on SRHR issues, policies, and best practices, ensuring alignment with national guidelines and international standards.
2. Support the development and implementation of comprehensive SRHR programs, strategies, and interventions, targeting diverse populations, including women, adolescents, and marginalized communities.
3. Conduct assessments and analysis to identify SRHR needs, gaps, and opportunities for program improvement.
4. Design and deliver training programs on SRHR topics for project staff, healthcare providers, partners, and community members.
5. Facilitate the integration of gender equality, human rights, and youth-friendly approaches into SRHR programs and services.
6. Ensure the availability and accessibility of a wide range of SRHR services, including family planning, safe abortion care, maternal health, STI/HIV prevention, and comprehensive sexuality education.
7. Collaborate with stakeholders and partners to advocate for additional resources for the SRHR in policy frameworks of MoPH, national health strategies, and development agendas.
8. Provide technical support in monitoring and evaluation, including the development of indicators, data collection tools, and analysis of SRHR program outcomes.
9. Stay updated on emerging trends, research, and evidence-based practices in the field of SRHR and contribute to knowledge sharing and dissemination.
10. Build and strengthen partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, community-based organizations, and other relevant stakeholders to foster collaboration and resource mobilization for SRHR programs.
11. Support the development and implementation of behavior change communication campaigns and community engagement initiatives to promote SRHR awareness and positive health-seeking behaviors.
12. Contribute to the development of project proposals, donor reports, and other relevant documents related to SRHR programming.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Master's degree in public health, sexual and reproductive health, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience working in SRHR programs, preferably in a global health or development context.
• In-depth knowledge of SRHR issues, policies, guidelines, and best practices.
• Familiarity with international frameworks and commitments related to SRHR, such as the ICPD Program of Action, SDGs, and human rights instruments.
• Demonstrated experience in program design, implementation, and evaluation of SRHR interventions.
• Strong understanding of gender equality, human rights, and youth-friendly approaches in SRHR programming.
• Experience in capacity building, training, and mentoring of staff and partners.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in multicultural settings and engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Proven ability to advocate for SRHR at various levels, including policy and community advocacy.
• Proficiency in data analysis and monitoring and evaluation of SRHR programs.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as required.
